They included studies into the development of a kinetic energy supergun

Sounds very similiar to something Saddam almost brought on-line until it's discovery in March of 1990.

Interesting story...Canadian ballistics expert (I forget his name.) had a pipe dream of building a cannon powerful enough to launch stuff intercontinentally. But his Government funding dried up. Went into the arms business, selling ballistic designs that were superior to what NATO was fielding.

His biggest project, was, of course, building a proof-of-concept version of his ICB Cannon for Iraq. Fortunately, they intercepted a huge shipment of parts at Heathrow.

Very soon afterwards, the Mossad visted the guy late at night as he was unlocking his apartment door. The next morning, he was found dead.

Yeah. The guy's last name was Bull. Maybe spelled Buhl. Can't remember.
