Boasting that the Taliban were in flight "virtually all over the country,"... "Noting" would have been less pejorative than "Boasting".
Just an oversight, no doubt.

What's particularly heartening about this is that it's not all that unusual. Rumsfeld spanks the media regularly. Bush talks very bluntly to the UN. Cheney comes out with this. And the Taliban have been militarily broken (the potential for guerilla operations notwithstanding).
There's a very refreshing candor here -- and it's probably making things far safer for us. Bush has not wavered in his bluntness, his actions match his words, and his choices of battle have been mostly correct.
Compared to the weasle-speak of the sink-meister -- which probably brought us to this in the first place -- it's an unbelievable change. Osama's probably more'n a little surprised. But now nobody else will be.
BTW: sure would be interesting to know what the Special Ops guys are doing elsewhere in the world, now that everybody's watching Afghanistan....

The Bush team is so supurb that you can't seem to pick a favorite! Has there ever been so much talent at the top before?

Bush and Cheney remind me so much of Washington and Hamilton.

The people of this country--particularly the ones that Cheney refer to--don't yet understand just how fortunate they are to have this President, Vice President and their team in place.
To think, even for a moment, that Al Gore came ever so close to stealing the election makes me shudder.
Worse yet, try to imagine what the presidential team of Hillary and Billary and Notbright and Cohen would be doing just about now had this happened on their watch.

Thanks for the straight talk from a real man, Vice President Dick Cheney!
I would like to add to the list of dead wrongs: McAinal and his sneering and hissing pet possum Krystol, Lew Rocknut, and all of the phoney conservatives on tv taking snide shots at our military and President Bush!
Last but not least to the phoney conservatives who post on FreeRepublic to trash GW and trash our military in this operation!
It has been a good week for those who love America and a terrible one for those who hate America, here and abroad.

"He was not specific about the critics but said it included military pundits, the Washington press and ``talking heads'' on television." Media-camera-slut JOHN MCVAIN.

The more I see the Bush administration in action, the more I like it.
To: america-rules
he noted that President Bush (news - web sites) had vowed to end support by the Taliban and other countries worldwide for ``terrorist'' networks such as al Qaeda guerrillas of fugitive Osama bin Laden Why is terrorist in quotation marks??

Unfortuately, the academics and talking heads just get extra points for having been dead wrong last time. Sigh...

Boasting that the Taliban were in flight ``virtually all over the country,'' he chided analysts who accused the Pentagon of not dropping more bombs or putting more troops into Afghanistan. Actually now a lot of critics have completey changed their tone. Now they are complaining that we are being much too rough with the Taliban. That we are bombing them too much and destroying them too thoroughly.

I love Cheney & whenever anyone talks about the Joint Chiefs of Staff I think about Joycelyn Elders calling them the Chief JOINTS of Staff. I convulse with hysterical laughter. (I am easily amused) ;9)
