At the NTSB press conference, they just stated that both engines appear to be intact and that there are no signs of engine failure, according to George Black, NTSB Boardmember.
"If there's a rattling sound, may have to do with main frame stalling . . ."
"NTSB should not jump in under economics, . . . political side . . . premature for Washington to say it was an accident."
Asked about sabatoge: says there have been past cover-ups with FBI; is not ruling out that possibility in this case.
Doesn't think it's possible that there's someone on the "inside" doing this.
Says he's afraid it's true government has vested interest to say it's just an accident right now.
Are you saying that people who can't speak English can't understand English? Or are you just a really lousy loser?
Your screen name would suggest you were interested in the truth. Your posts here suggest that is a lie. Is that clear, Mr. Imagination of the Year?
If it's just me you don't like, I think that's wonderful. If there was a physical award for it, I'd put it on my fireplace. So by all means, insult me all your heart desires. And say, "Hi," to Ted for me.
ROTFLMAO
Nice to know your boys are at work.
I'll say this: Big Al presented a lot more gravitas behind the mike than Tom Brokaw.
How many EMD SD-90MACS does it take to exert that much starting tractive effort?
You probably don't even know what the hell that means.
Sure I so, pal. It means you don't have a response to my point---even though you're suddenly affecting the technical expertise you previously disclaimed. You tell me where the "railroad coupler" is on a plane.... Now if we could get back to discussing your "uncontained catastrophic engine failure theory"?
But I guarantee, that you will be the first one here, telling everyone exactly how the next train wreck happened, before the derailed cars even come to rest.
Yeah, I just might be if I thought the government was trying to push its own unsubstantiated theory before the wheels stopped rolling. KnowwuddAhMEAN, Vern?
Not because you have an ounce of expertise whatsoever, but because your total distrust of anyone in a position of authority trumps that.
Grow up, pal. I don't need "expertise" to form an opinion on an important public event, especially if there are others with expertise that I can consult to form my opinion. As for your straw man charge that I have "total distrust of anyone in a position of authority," the issue isn't whether we "trust" those in authority, but whether or not we have the freedom and the independence as citizens to be able to critically evaluate, using all information we can get--not just what the government chooses to give us---, the claims the government makes to us. God help us on the day the government convinces us that only it has the "expertise" to evaluate the assertions it makes.
AGENCY: Federal Aviation Administration, DOT.
ACTION: Notice of proposed rulemaking (NPRM).
SUMMARY: This document proposes the adoption of a new airworthiness directive (AD) that is applicable to all Airbus Model A300-600 series airplanes. This proposal would require repetitive inspections to detect fatigue cracking of the wing top skin at the front spar joint; and a follow-on eddy current inspection and repair, if necessary. This proposal is prompted by issuance of mandatory continuing airworthiness information by a foreign civil airworthiness authority. The actions specified by the proposed AD are intended to detect and correct fatigue cracking of the wing top skin at the front spar joint, which could result in reduced structural integrity of the airplane.
DATES: Comments must be received by June 11, 1998.
ADDRESSES: Submit comments in triplicate to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Transport Airplane Directorate, ANM-114, Attention: Rules Docket No. 98-NM-82-AD, 1601 Lind Avenue, SW., Renton, Washington 98055-4056. Comments may be inspected at this location between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, except Federal holidays. The service information referenced in the proposed rule may be obtained from Airbus Industrie, 1 Rond Point Maurice Bellonte, 31707 Blagnac Cedex, France. This information may be examined at the FAA, Transport Airplane Directorate, 1601 Lind Avenue, SW., Renton, Washington.
