You might also mention to your wife that men voted in larger numbers for Bush- reasons given were that men watched more news, read more than one paper, etc.. Also, church goers voted in higher numbers for Bush, as did the military. Go to the Bush web site and do a search. Good luck.

Here's a link that will take you to CNN's election results page. Follow the exit polls link when
you get there. There are breakdowns for almost everything.

Clue # 1: Gates hired Michael Kinsley to be the editor of his online liberal rag.

Bill is my hubby's former boss. Bill comes from a long line of liberal democrats. He doesn't know what's good for him, he just votes like daddy always did. He may have a brilliant mind for hardware and software - but he's clueless when it comes to politics.
As to the education level of Bush voters....all I know is that the Washington Post says that right-wing Christians are "poor, uneducated, and easily led." Of course, the Washpost is always accurate, right?

Esteemed Professor "Hug-a-tree" Gore, Junior has never received anything but a bachelor's degree through course work.
President George W. Bush earned and received an MBA from Harvard.
I suspect that the results of your search will reflect a similar pattern of education.
Clue # 2: Gates never earned an advanced degree -- he dropped out of Harvard.

This could help you: Avg. Asian IQ is 102. White 98 Mexican 86 Black 82. white labor unions ?? no stats on this, but they vote dem, and most are not college graduates. I'd say 88. Given that the first 2 groups are predominately the rep. voters, its fair to say the avg. rep.voter is 20% smarter. If they mention women, men have always scored higher on SAT's than women. As a reminder, Bush won 82 PERCENT of the counties in the election. It really was a total landslide except for the 4 largest minority handout cities.

http://www.gallup.com/Election2000/demographic.asp Here are the results for their poll taken the week of the election, the weeks prior to that show a wider gap:
College Grad Bush: 48%
Gore: 46%
Some College Bush: 51%
Gore: 41%
No College Bush: 42%
Gore: 48%
That should prove to be more than enough ammo for your wife. Also, don't have an article on it, but a family member of mine works for Microsoft. Gates is a Republican. If for no other reason than the whole Antitrust nonsense.

Specifically, I need to find out the average education level for a Bush voter as opposed to Gore voter. I've seen those figures somewhere and believe the numbers come out awfully close. On the other hand, it's not how MUCH a person learned that should count -- it should be whether or not it was the truth!

If you go over the data you will see that the uneducated and the post grads voted largely for Sore/Loserman. People with some college or college degrees leaned towards Bush. Of course many of the post grads include professors, lawyers and everyone's favorite stalking horse the teachers.

They need to delve more deeply into what the person was education was in. The fact that 100% of womens studies, eduacation and Black History doctoral candidates voted for Gore is irrelevent. The fact is without the inner city ghetto class in this country, the democrats would have carried few states...and their Senate majority would be gone.

Gates is probably a RINO Republican or Independent.
Incidentally, in the election cycle before the Clinton administration attacked Microsoft, there was a front page news bit in Investor's Business Daily about a large, (100's of thousands of $'s, I believe) in-kind contribution that Gates made in computers and Microsoft products to Alfonse D'Amato's soft-money National Republican Senatorial Committee. Set up their entire operation for them with brand new technology just in time for the beginning of the election cycle. No mention was made of any sort of similar donation to the D's.
I for one, always remembered that story, and believed it may have been one of the underlying factors behind the prosecution/persecution of Microsoft. (I *really* don't want to get into an MS-lovers vs. MS-haters debate here, it's irrelevant to the story). Regardless, Bill Gates, really didn't "get it" that: a) someone with his $ really has to give to both sides; and b) right after he started catching the heat, he set up large dollar foundations that feed $ to all of the worthwhile but politically correct causes (AIDS children in Africa, for example), giving away mind-numbing sums. All too little, too late for the vengeful Clintonistas sadly, they tried to destroy him anyway; they just ran out of time or they certainly would have won.

I can't speak to the specific demographics of the 2000 election, but in general, liberals tend to be found at either end of the educational spectrum: the poorly educated and the super-educated: high school dropouts, GEDs, and Ph.D.-types that make academia a career. Conservatives tend to be found in the middle -- some college, college grads, MBAs, and so forth.
