There are many methods that would be EASIER than a shot that doesn't cause the engine to fail until 4 minutes into the flight. Which part of the engine would you have to hit to make it do that? You completely blew off this part of my post.

BTW, and FWIW, barometric initiator is NOT required. A timer, a remote control, or a delay switch, a couple of batteries, a blasting cap and the shaped charges stolen from the locker in Houston is all that is needed.

YOU proposed that shooting it down would be EASY, show me what part of the engine you need to hit.

Airplane bombers very rarely use straight timers since there is too great a chance of a long delay or airplane change due to an unrelated mechanical problem.

A 50 caliber shot straight head on into the spinning turbine blades is all it would take, believe me.

Titanium turbine blade spinning at a gazillion RPM are NOT made to take 50 caliber rounds in stride.
