I have no idea what sound a turbine engine falling off makes.
I'm far more interested in WHAT MIGHT HAVE CAUSED THE ENGINE TO FALL OFF!
Since you've already accepted the governments spin about machancial failure, I suppose you'll be going to Disney World this Christmas...

Maybe it was just an accident? Those DO still happen, you know. It would not be the first time an engine decided to go fly by itself. Very rare, but not unheard of. Of course, an explosive would do the job too. I'm not making any conclusions until more facts are available for review.

I suspected as much. Oh well...
No, I think you may very well have made up your mind on what happened concerning Flight 587...
J.T., why don't we wait for the signal-to-noise ratio to improve before jumping to conclusions? At least with TWA 800, there is clear, compelling evidence that a missile might have taken down the plane. So far, there is nothing inconsistent with mechanical failure - if evidence to the contrary comes up, we'll deal with it then...

How about you telling what happend? You must have an explanation, to start such a thread. Or, are you like LibertyBelle (sp?), who appears to wish he/she could withdraw the thread on same subject?
