I wouldn't be so cynical. It was just reported that when flight 587 took off the pilot in the plane behind noted that smoke poured out of one of the engines during take off. All signs point to that this crash was due to mechanical failure.

Ill wait for the black box, and I wouldn't fly in a plane. The economy is too important right now for the airlines to admit another hit.
