It is very likely the FBI knew about the AlQaeda cell for many years via Ali Mohammed,the FBI informant and Bin Laden lietenant in the US. Once again, the FBI chose to follow the cell members around rather than disband the cell, a failed practivce and policy that still goes on today putting the lives of innocent Americans at risk, but helping the FBI get more powers and bigger budgets.

Great article a week ago by Paul Craig Roberts. Ali Mohamed told FBI there were hundreds of "sleepers" in the United States who did not fit the terrorist profile and are not dependent on orders or financing from abroad. The separate cells act at their own choosing. Terrorism expert Simon Reeve said basically the same thing on C-Span. A report prepared for the state legislature by Michigan Police said most of the Muslim terrorist organizations are present in Michigan. Our old friend David Bonior, called the report "character assassination". The bottom line is that getting bin Laden will not mean the end of terrorism in this country- too many fanatical American hating Muslims already over here, thanks to our "come one, come all" immigration approach for the last 35 years.
