"I was expounding on the detriments of Bush's tax cut as we approached Grand Central Terminal and were met with hordes of people running out of the station.." What in the heck was she doing walking to Grand Central on 9/11 when she's staying around Union Square? And after "wandering" south during the disaster, too. This ditz is some walker, I can tell you that. Doesn't this sound like a true Cliinton, though -- someone who's literally never worked a day in her life "expounding on the detriments of Bush's tax cut" as "hordes of people" were running out of Grand Central Station? She must be real fun at parties.
I'm just wondering about the path of her oddyssey, that's all. Chelsea "wanders" downtown to within twelve blocks of the WTC, according to the article. Then, she reunites with two of her friends (we can only assume that they both worked in the area, or in the same place), one of which is the girl who lives in the apartment near Union Square (that's 14th-18th St, so assume the friend's apartment is anywhere between 12th and 20th, 3rd Ave. to 5th or 6th). So they've got to walk a good 24 blocks just to get back to "home base", instead they trek onward ANOTHER 25-30 blocks north to Grand Central in time to be there when hordes of people rush out of it.
Walking the third friend home, perhaps? I don't know, but this just doesn't make sense. I will have to read the whole article, I suppose (sigh)...guess this means I'll have to actually buy Talk magazine.
