[history]
Byrd made his own threat to do just that. He said he is going to attach a $20 billion domestic security plan to this year's defense spending bill, a bill the president desperately needs passed to continue a war on terror that is costing the military approximately $1.2 billion per day.

Smells like Senator Byrd intends to threaten the funding for our men and women in harms way. The same men and women who are right now protecting everything that the United States Stands for.
I won't comment on the needs that the Senator wants to fulfill with the additional spending, but find it beyond reproach that a Senator would attempt to threaten funding for our military during a time of war.

Do you mean former KKK member Robert Byrd?

Highways, high schools, vocational schools, bridges, parking garages, university buildings - every town in W.Va. has something named after that doddering old fool.

This is the same moronic Sen. Byrd who, just a couple of days ago, stood on the Senate floor and denounced the Bush tax cuts as "$1.3 trillion of PORK".
This old FOOL has been twisting the English language for so long now, a la Billy Clinton, he no longer has a clue as to what he's saying.
Time to retire, Bob.
