The series was very good, the 2nd, 3rd & 4th episodes were intense. It brought tears to my eyes to see the real men speaking of their experiences & who the actual hero's were. I believe last night the Major said that his grandson asked him if he was a hero and he said No, but I served with a group of hero's. God bless the men & women who put it on the line for us to be the country we are today. However I'm sure they would turn over in their graves to find out that we have as many traitors in our midsts as we do. By the way their suppose to have some type of Special on Veterans day pertaining to the Band of Brothers Minis Series.
Without a doubt HBO has raised the bar for television. Band of Brothers should not only carry the Emmys next year, but in my opinion it should be considered for some Acadamy Awards. Its as good as any of the drivel I have seen come out of Hollywood recently. The sad part is because it is on HBO, a large percentage of US households did not get a chance to view this masterpiece.
I watched every episode religously, most multiple times. I read where Ambrose in writing the book, wanted to include the good with the bad. Thus, we get to see not only acts of heroism and bravery, but we see the dirty laundry as well. I applaud Ambrose, Speilberg, Hanks and the Men of Easy company for having the courage to tell the story like it was.
If any of the Men of Easy Company happen to read this let me say this to you. Mere words cannot describe how grateful my wife and I are to you and your men. The tremendous sacrafices you went through so that we can enjoy the freedoms so many Americans take for granted, will not be forgotten. I salute you!
