First, I didn't think Gilbert could win. But, next most predictable - if she did, the liberal left would cry foul - somehow. They found a way.

"Is Gilbert a conservative?"

Yes (as conservative as it gets in Hollyweird, that is.) Actually, she is not far from mainstream conservatism. The fact that she won the election is - to me, quite a surprise.

I wonder if the Florida Supreme Court is available to oversee the recount.

I think we are seeing the wave of the future in politics. Conservative wins election, liberal cries foul, is eventually lampooned by everybody in the country, and slinks away ruined. Witness Algore and Freddy Ferrer in NYC. I can live with that.

Looks like they got only about a 25% "turnout" for the election.

"isn't this how Ronald Reagan got his political start?"

Sure was!

I don't think Gilbert will follow the path, but what is veeery interesting - I think Californians have had a belly-full of 'Red' Davis, his recent signing of pro-gay bills, anti-gun bills, attempts to socialize electric power - and the massive tax rip-offs.

Similar evens preceded the demise of the Brown ‘dynasty' in CA, and the rise of Reagan. The question isn't so much whether Gilbert will move into politics later - it is, will the state toss out the Democrats now wreaking havoc in Sacramento, and replace Davis with someone like Bill Simon - and throw out the socialists in the state legislature. I think they just might.

Nearly 24,000 ballots sent to SAG members in New York failed to include the signature line, which critics said could allow their validity to be challenged.

I would think that these votes would have favored Rhoda anyway. This is Miami-Dade all over again.

This win for Gilbert is huge considering all the money Harper spent and all the friends she had flacking for her in the trades. But Harper refused to debate Gilbert and resorted to really dirty smears and lies against her.

This is so great!!!

CONGRATULATIONS PRESIDENT GILBERT!!!

"the wave of the future in politics"

As long as that means socialist/commies keep losing, I'm happy if we can find good people - that aren't RINO's and incompetents.

25% "turnout"

Isn't that always the way it is? Most people just don't care who wins any election!

Gee, do you think that the signature lines were maybe, like, left off on purpose for just such a controversy? Do you tink we would have heard about this big problem if it weren't for the fact that the chosen candidate LOST? I wonder if the person responsible for theis "mistake" is a Leftist or a normal person???

"left off on purpose for just such a controversy?"

Funny... that is precisely the thought that crossed my mind when I read the piece! (A little prep for the 'unthinkable' - by the sore-loserman lieberals?)

I'm surprised Harper did so well. The lady has a serious 'tude. Maybe not Streisand-esque in terms of galactic-sized ego, but gettin' there, especially considering her comparatively minor talents.
