Just reported on the 10 PM WBZ radio news broadcast:

FBI is seeking a rental type Ryder Van that was stopped trying to enter the parking garage at the Cambridge Mass Galleria mall at about 7 PM. When the back doors of the van were opened by security personnel, there were 6, 55 gallon drums duct taped to the vans walls along with gas type cans also taped to the walls.

The van then sped off. The FBI is asking for anyone seeing the van with possible license plate of 4789H7 to contact Police or the FBI.

The explosives may have been hooked up to a timer and set to go off tomorrow, Saturday, a busy shopping day.

"Watch out for the tunnels to East Boston! We know the terrorists are interested in tunnels."

Dang, I wish you hadn't said that. The I-10 tunnel under the Mobile River was the only thing around I could think of that may attract a terrorist.

>>If they were deported, things would be much safer.<<

Incomprehensible.

Absolutely incomprehensible that there is a whole foreign army, still here six weeks after 9-11.

I'm sorry but this seems like a joke. These guys were able to identify all that stuff in this van and as soon as they did - it fled. Come on, this van would have fled BEFORE they had the time to identify the contents if it was real. I'm looking at all these replies and now I'm starting to get worried about all of you. Please calm down or we are really in trouble!!!!!!!! Thanks.

The mall is just across the Charles River from Downtown Boston. Its right around the corner from from MIT.
The parking structures are all under the main mall floors.
I grew up in Cambridge, this is a very popular Mall. At least it was last time I visited last year.
Considering its a Friday night, that mall would have had plenty of people in it.

"Osama released them to do their own thing, I expect each has his own favorite, huh?"

Kind of a terrorist/free-form performance art type of exhibition? </sarcasm>

Tell me more about this mall

I think they are talking about the Cambridgeside Galleria Mall, which is south of MIT and next to the Charles River. Its a large brick building, maybe 4- 5 stories high (built within the last 20 years, and the parking garage is inside the main building in the lower levels (I think...I've been in the mall but never parked there, but there are no real outside parking lots and there are parking garage entrances right in the side of the building). A big truck bomb (and they don't know if this was a bomb attempt yet) could take out the whole building if the bomb was in the parking garage in my opinion).

They probably rented it for them; they would never blow up their own property when they could blow up someone else's.

It happened at 7PM and if you want to terrorise people you kill their children indiscriminately.

Their choice of Cambridge is interesting though. Must be right wing extreme Wiccan skinheads.

If they were deported, things would be much safer.

But then, the liberal media would have a panic attack, and we all know Jennings, Rather,CNN,etc. would rather see dead Americans than safe Americans!

Perhaps this one was doing malls. Remember, Osama released them to do their own thing, I expect each has his own favorite, huh?

If they are working on their own now, it will probably work to our advantage. These guys are pretty much left in the dark until time to act.

Let's hope that if they have to think and make decisions for themselves they'll make some lousy mistakes. If this is the case, perhaps we can catch them before they cause any damage.

Not only still here, but still here plus we're being told to make nice with them. Islam is our friend--isn't that the line?

Oh Blam, to blow up that tunnel would be a public service. I just hate it.

there were 6, 55 gallon drums duct taped to the vans walls along with gas type cans also taped to the walls.

They were going to do this earlier this year but then had to wait for gas prices to come down after spending all their gas money on Budweiser and lap dances.

What else could it be? Gas cans duct taped to the walls? 55 gallon drums on the back of a Ryder truck? NAh, these are either terrorists or terrorists.

Some owes a big thanks to the guard for a Job Well Done! Even if he was not able to catch or detain the guys, he did save lives. This is the diligence we all need.

We are smarter than they are. Let's be as alert and catch everyone of these evil people.
