Is Harry Potter so innocent??? I think not. Just consider Pokemon and the obsessive nature it imparted to so many kids. Harry Potter is the same deal. While I certainly won't condone censorship, I do agree with the original poster's warning. Now, that being said, if you aren't a Christian, then fine, do whatever you feel is right, and take your chances - it's your life. Does the series get kids interested in reading? Hmmm... what other books have they read now thanks to the Potter books? Do the books instruct children in the arts of true witchcraft? Hard to say. I have witnessed children affected quite adversely by D&D, but without having read one of the Potter books (just not interested in them), I can't say whether or not they actually instruct.

Blasting other people because they believe the Bible is not constructive. The poster is again, sending a warning to concerned Christian parents. Christians that defend the books, well... what can be said? I suppose that if you don't feel bothered by it, then whatever.

Mocking Christians at this site is kind of loopy. Without them, you can just about flush any future conservatives winning any sort of an election down the toilet.

We get all up in arms about Hollywood liberalism and media liberalism, but when it comes to something written by a liberal as fantasy, that our kids enjoy, well, that's okay... no indoctrination could be happening there. Yeah... sure.

Allowing nutty ideas to get wrapped up in Christianity is much worse that the prospect of losing an election.

And I await the very first anecdote of a kid gone bad off reading Harry Potter. Landmark Baptist evidence is excluded.

I was the same way about Batman and D&D when I was growing up! My nephew was just obsessed to the point of imitating Pikachu when he liked Pokemon. As I said -- when he liked Pokemon. Kids will tire of Pokemon, and they will tire of Harry Potter the same way I tired of D&D and Batman.

That's fine .. I want moderates to win elections. And BTW, I am a devout, Bible studying Christian.
