I too am in total agreement with you both. The difference in comparing for example " The Wizard of Oz" and the likes to Harry Potter, is that nowhere did they (Wizard of Oz) use actual real witchraft and Satanic names and spells. And ! anyone denying there is a Satan or evil, well, what can I say.

Reading the Bible doesn't make one Christian. Reading the Qu'ran doesn't make one a Muslim. Reading Mein Kampf, The Communist Manifesto, or Earth in the Balance doesn't make one a Nazi, Commie, or Sierra clubber.
So what's wrong with reading Harry Potter, given the above?

From what I've seen of the Harry Potter series, The Wicked Witch of the West would smoke that poor boy over open coals and feed him to her flying monkeys.

Any thoughts on Rumplestiltskin (sp?)? I understand that story was treated in the same manner then as Harry Potter is today. And no, I'm not kidding.
