Maybe it was a poor translation, but it was just incoherent.

It's not the translation. It IS incoherent...

Ever read "Earth In The Balance"?

No, but I ought to. Gotta watch the blood pressure, though. :) I really ought to look at Kampf again, though.

Wow! I was gone for awhile, but I see everyone is still hard at it over here. I think I'm going to have to read "Mein Kampf" now. On second thought, maybe i'd better not. I'd probably turn into a Nazi.

From Earth In The Balanceby Albert Gore:

To warn of the dangers is not to despair of the solutions. Most of all, this book is a call to action and hope. Whether our purpose is to preserve the simple pleasure of fishing in a mountain stream on an autumn morning or the simple security of knowing that our children's drinking water is safe - to save an endangered species, an endangered wilderness, or an endangered earth - we have it in our power to restore the earth's balance before the growing imbalance inflicts its greatest potential damage on our children and grandchildren. Today the human species is the only one with the self-knowledge and the capacity to protect its own future.

...

Our challenge now, which requires the education of us all and the raising of our collective awareness on a global basis, is to restore and save the earth even as we add still more members to the human family. This will not be easy or simple; there will be setbacks, and fierce resistance from those who profit from pollution.

----------------------------------------

And from Mein Kampf by Adolph Hitler

The foreign policy of a People?s State must first of all bear in mind the duty of securing the existence of the race which is incorporated in this State. And this must be done by establishing a healthy and natural proportion between the number and growth of the population on the one hand and the extent and resources of the territory they inhabit, on the other. That balance must be such that it accords with the vital necessities of the people.

What I call a healthy proportion is that in which the support of a people is guaranteed by the resources of its own soil and sub-soil. Any situation which falls short of this condition is none the less unhealthy even though it may endure for centuries or even a thousand years. Sooner or later, this lack of proportion must of necessity lead to the decline or even annihilation of the people concerned.
