USO Canteen Freeper Style

War has come to our shores. It was committed on American soil.  We have been able to live in Freedom only because of those who have fought in the past wars giving life, limb and all the sacrifices for us to live in Freedom and go about our day without fear.

On September 11, 2001, that comfort, that feeling of living in a land that would not be attacked ended.

William T. Sherman said it succinctly, "War is hell."

The day has come for this Nation and its people to understand that there is a risk in losing its freedom, and in reality there always has been. We have ONLY stayed free because of the sacrifices of our military, our warriors.

This is about saving the future of America. Aristotle said, "We make war that we may live in peace."

We are seeing the American Flag flying at homes now more than ever in my lifetime. We are seeing the American Flag flying on vehicles and people wearing Flag pins and small Flags on their clothes. America is united in the cause for Freedom and for our country to WIN against the evil that came upon our land to kill and hurt us. To change our way of life and to destroy America which is US, you and me. To take away our precious Freedom.

This is the Freeper version of the USO Canteen. Where soldiers could come and feel a small part of being at home. It is a place where you that have family in the military can post a thought to a loved one that might be able to read it far away from home. A place where we that support our military can help support them, post to them, fun graphics showing the price in America and our troops. Poems, quotes, cartoons, or articles of how America is behind our troops.

Those in our military are our Nation's warriors. Let us join hands, fly our Flag and let the world know how important our warriors are to us....And that our MILITARY, our Warriors, are America's TRUE HEROS!

"No Marine was ever honored for what they received. Honor was the reward for what they gave." (Anonymous) CHIEF gave his all in many ways. He touched our lives and his friendship meant so much to all of us. He will live in our hearts forever, and his friendship will always be a bright and shining memory in our hearts and souls.

I want many shirts with the Eagle and super-imposed flag, with the truly pissed Eagle look, that has "Let's Roll" underneath.
I'm wearing Lady Liberty, and other such stuff, but I want "Kill Raghead" gear available to me. Produce it, I'll buy it, Thanks much.

The strangest thing happened this morning. While I was watching President Bush and the USO celebration send off.......I started to cry. Not hard just , you know when tears swell in your eyes and you cannot see.
President Bush's speech was wonderful. I would love to find it from today and save it.

Just want to say I love all of you so much and all our veterans and those fightng and serving now.

How blessed we all are to be able to say.... " I am an American"

I will fight with all that is in me to do what I can and I know each of you feel that way too....to Keep America Free and to keep us safe and our Constitution respected and never tread upon.

God bless you and thank you for letting me do a 'moment' on here.

Just a 'moment', now your channels will return to their normal programing, heh heh.

Hi , the quotes I save from rintense's nightly wonderful fabulous thread she does.
The picture was one rintense posted in her daily Bush thread after 9-11. I saved the picture to my photo point.

I would love for you to use all or any of anything I post. That is so kind and I just love all the quotes too.

A HUGE thank you to you rintense too for all the hard work you do for each of us FReepers everyday. You make our day each day.

Thanks for your heartfelt words. I feel the same way. I never know when those tears are going well up, but when they do it is my way to say that I love America, the men and women that have fought for our freedoms and the men and women that are fighting now for our freedoms. My nephew has just enlisted and so now the war is hitting closer to home. Hugs to you too. :)

Wayne Newton Launches USO Tour

``When the history is finally written about me it might say a lot of things - and it may be just, or it may not be kind - but it will have to admit that I loved my country beyond all else and stood up when it counted,'' Newton said in a speech twice as long as the president's.

...My Tearful "Moment" =

...Inaugural Morning Year 2001 watching BUSH take his Oath of Office in the shining light ...with a BILL CLINTON looking on that did everything he could to stop that moment from happening.

...Having fought the Battle of .."CLINTON ain't Leaving".. for a year, just so's he would, I found myself hugging my good doggie while tearfully crying out at the TV Screen...

"We WON, Spunky, We REALLY did"

All for the LOVE of JUSTICE

Great pics, thanks much!
Can anyone tell me why most of the great comics always seem to be such dwarfs, or the fattest? Is it some sort of "coping" problem, or what? Some of the funniest folk are the stumpiest of folk, or the most well fed.

"I will NEVER FORGET getting a free ticket to a Rehearsal Taping of a 1965 CBS-TV Network Ed Sullivan Show"

I got a free ticket to see the Jackie Gleason show with the June Taylor dancers in Miami in 1968 from the USO.
We were there on liberty after spending 8 weeks at Gutanmo Bay
on a shakedown cruise and another 6 weeks patrolling at the 3 mile limit of downtown Havana.

Hiya Attilla!! What's the word on getting a replay or audio link to your call with Hugh Hewitt? Sorry I had just missed it...

I am hoping to get a professional quality recording from Hugh's producer, but it is apparently not a high a priority for them.
(They did did not so "NO," but they have not yet said "Yes.")

Hugh did e-mail me that, in general, he prefers NOT to run re-broadcasts, but that he would LOVE to have Snow Bunny call back again - LIVE! - in a couple weeks.

The NEXT time, we will be prepared, and notify FReepers in advance.

As I am typing this,
HUGH HEWITT just plugged the "USO Canteen" threads - AGAIN!!!
