Sounds like Lew's columnists have been reading freerepublic.com. Nothing's too bloody.

"The war appears to enjoy wide support, which gives the warmongers an opportunity to appear populist in their writing."

Right out of the gate lew crockwell hits his stride. He missed an important issue, it also apparently gives maggots like him the opportunity to appear even more foolish in their writing.

"Sounds like Lew's columnists have been reading freerepublic.com. Nothing's too bloody."

And you match him stride for stride. Nothing's beneath you.

McCain was actually in a war, which sort of contradicts Rockwell's point about the bloodthirstiness of non-combattant columnists. One wonders about Lew's own war record.

My reaction to this is that Lew could have written the same column about World War II. Perhaps he would have, too. But most of those who fought in that war felt that, in spite of everything, it was worthwhile. Perhaps the martial spirit will again make problems for us someday, as it has in the past. But if we aren't willing to defend ourselves we are through as a nation. History has seen the ruins of successful, wealthy, refined trading communities that were incapable of defending themselves. I wouldn't want the US to be among them.

Those in favor of war are sometimes too quick to make charges of treason or cowardice against those who oppose their policies. If we're looking for an equivalent behavior to this in pacifist circles, it would be calling those who disagree with them murderers. There are two ways of "waving the bloody shirt." Rockwell would gain credibility condemning the one sort, if he didn't indulge in the other.

What National Review doesn’t mention is the absence of support among the working class for the foreign policies that got us into this mess in the first place.

I could have sworn that Osama and his insane religious buds "got us into this mess in the first place".

Somebody needs to tell good ol' Lew that democracies generally have a real hard time with coherent longterm foreign policies, while dynastic Islamic dictatorships have no trouble with them at all.

Shut your piehole, Rockwell.

Let us murder every foreign Muslim man, women, and child, and starve those we can’t find with cruel blockades, allowing anyone who remains to die miserable deaths from disease, even if it means hurting our economy and sending thousands of American men and women to their own violent deaths, leaving their own children and spouses abandoned. Let us flatten every mud hut, kill every goat and goatherd, blow the arms off little children with our bright yellow cluster bomblets.

That would be wrong. Good thing no-one is doing it.

The average Joe doesn't support protecting 30% of our oil supply, which unfortunately comes from Saudi Arabia? Let this guy have it.

This should be required reading for every member of the Armed Forces. It is important for them to understand that the very essense of the freedom that they're are prepared to die for insists that fools like this can sit back nice and safe and write this gutter rubbish.

I'm sure that crockwell must realize the kind of response his BS would invoke from them...that must be why he continues to wear his arse as a crash helmet.
