by the way that she's the 16th case..3 today..

Yeah, I said that he gave an explanation, but a surely there was a way to inform the hospital staff other than assemble the whole "anthrax committee" for a midnight news conference.
The story he gave, sounded to be a bit of a stretch. Maybe word had leaked out and they don't expect her to make it through the night and didn't want to start tomorrow with an anthrax death..possibly targeted at a hospital, that hadn't even been reported yet...I don't know, just thinkin'.

It's one thing a day... They are feeding us one major issue a day. Who knows what is really going on?!@#%?

I'm still troubled by another FReepers comments about Atta's 'red hand's' problem. Maybe radiation burns? Hmmmm

Since your comment was off subject, I'll jump out of the boat with you...what kind of damage would a suitcase nuke do?...anybody know?

Ugh! I'm sorry, obviously my reading comprehension skills are lacking.

"The spores are so small, they can even pass through the weave of paper, apparently." 1-3 microns I've read. A human hair is about 100 microns in diameter, some smaller, some larger.

If this woman lives in the Bronx and works in Midtown, (quite a distance from WTC), and is not a postal worker....how would she get anthrax? Any ideas?

I was thinking more like dispersing over the city, not dropping straight down. I'm just having trouble taking in that all of these cases are coming from just a couple three letters. There has to be more somewhere, and not necessarily in the mail.

It's hard to keep things straight when it jumps threads, anyway!

I'm still troubled by another FReepers comments about Atta's 'red hand's' problem.I've heard it suggested that he might have been washing his hands with bleach while preparing those envelopes. Sounds like a reasonable speculation to me.

"Since your comment was off subject, I'll jump out of the boat with you...what kind of damage would a suitcase nuke do?...anybody know?" We got off subject with smallpox and eboli. I do not know the answer to your question, sorry.

He said that she works near, but not in the mail room...who knows, maybe she stopped in to visit..also, I think he said that handling mail wasn't part of her normal duties, but possibly on occasion, it could have happened.

So it could pass through paper...what's the point? Is it getting lodged in paper and dislodged in quantities sufficient to infect by breathing? Where are the recipients of these things? There should be thousands of cases of cutaneous, at the very least. (Maybe there will be.)
QUESTION...
Has there been any anthrax cases where they "have not" found
traces of anthrax around the area where the person may have picked it up at?
(like someone who has anthrax but the CDC did not find it in their work environment or home environment)
To: blam
Masterbation maybe? Afterall, he probably wanted to make sure that his equipment was working before seeing all those virgins.

HmmmmThe explanation I heard first was a chemical burn, such as from disinfection done with a chlorine solution too strong for the job. I don't think he'd be fit to walk around if he had radiation burns on both hands, but I'm not a doctor.

This one tonight, though, sounds kind of strange.

Well, if these guys had dispersed the spores over the city there would still be cases of firefighters and policemen with the disease, plus many many more people.

A suitcase nuke would blow up several blocks. If the goal is just to kill as many people as possible, anthrax would be more effective. Nukes would be more useful for a decapitation strike against our government.
