Don't forget this: the day after Halloween is "All Saints Day"....a holy day of obligation, for my religion anyway. I'm Catholic. Guess what religion was attacked in Pakistan on Saturday or Sunday? CATHOLIC.

Halloween is also known as "All Saints Eve". We were taught that in catholic school. It's not all about "dressing up" and getting candy. ;-) DJ

12 years of Catholic school here - I know what you're talking about. But, I read something, or heard something (and now the last 6 weeks with the flood of information, I'm getting foggy on details) that was very specific about Halloween and made reference to it being All Saint's Eve and some correlation to some other EVIL associated with Halloween in the eyes of Islam (or perhaps just the fundamentalists.) Wish I could remember exactly what it was. If someone out there knows what I'm talking about, please chime in.

In any event, since the attack in Pakistan was specifically on Catholics, this is taking on the appearance of a religious war...maybe more deeply rooted than hatred of America...but a deep-seated revenge for the Crusades. My husband lived in Saudi Arabia for a few years and got the impression Islam has never truly gotten over the Crusades, or being dethroned as the world power.

In an editorial of a nearby small town weekly newspaper, the writer compared the date Sept. 11 to the 911 emergency number, and his last sentence said 10-31 is police code for "crime in progress". Do we have any law enforcement officer freepers that can confirm that code? I've been very uneasy since I read that.
