I may not own a house, but I pay rent to someone who pays property taxes, and I own a car that I pay taxes on, and license plate fees, etc. A person can own a house and still be a bum.
(I know I'm a little defensive on this subject)
Naww .. I was refering to something I read recently , a time when folks who could not vote unless they owned land . Hey , sometimes it's better not to own ! no harm done ..
