Neither McVeigh nor Nichols was ever a member of any militia. If you say they were, you're repeating Dan Rather's BS.

And according to the left wing anti-Christian Socialists, the Dividians were in a "compound" rather than a Christian comune.

The myth of the rightwing hate group needs to be debunked. It is not that some on the right do not hate--most humans probably hate someone or something. The serious point is that hate is not the motive for wanting to preserve a heritage. Love is the motive for wanting to preserve a heritage. Hate is the motive for wanting to trash other people's heritage and values. Hate is the motive of the Left, not the Right. (See How To Identify The Bigot In The Argument.)

It sounds from this article that we need to have a reevaluation of certain people in the FBI. I don't believe they would be going off half-cocked, like this, if they were still guided by the moderate, broadbased American views of J. Edgar Hoover. This is more of the sort of crackpot tangent exhibited in the Randy Weaver and Waco cases.

But, frankly, let us hope that we are all wrong to be concerned; that they are all focused in the most practical direction to find the answers we all desire. I, for one, really do not want to be right in this concern.

They would BOO Hillary right out of the Bronx if she showed up at a Yankee game, I almost wish she would go so America could once again see this woman being BOOED

My sentiments exactly! I can't get enough of seeing that woman being booed and having her delusions of being so loved by "the people" come crumbling down around her. Maybe she'll gain 40 pounds and grow a beard like Al Gore did. You just know she's capable of it. :)

It's Bush's FBI now. When are conservatives going to start hold THIS president responsible for what HIS minions do?

First of all, what has his "minions" done?
Sure, once he gets done cleaning up the 1,000 landmines Clinton left for him, he can clean out the lift wing terrorists.
He's kinda busy working to defend the country from Clintons lack of presidential skills right now.

McVeigh was thought to extreme for them and was booted out!

therefore, they were not members. The militia wanted nothing to do with them, so the A-rabs adopted them.
Anti- American, Anti-Christian A-rabs, just like the socialist party here in America.

It ain't gonna happen, SC. Republicans in government are mostly of two types, cowardly idiots and stealth democrats. The democrats want this kind of crap to keep happening and the republicans are too stupid, too scared or too much in agreement with the democrats to stop it.

Bush could have started a real clean sweep as soon as he got into office. He didn't. The people he picked for his cabinet are pissants, look at them. Colin Powell is a UN buttboy, a socialist. Ashcroft is a Reno clone. Whitman is a utopian socialist, just as Norton is. Bush even created a new cabinet position and put Tom Ridge in it. Ridge could get elected running on the democrat ticket anywhere.

Face it, if he's picking such losers for his cabinet, then how is he ever going to get any good advice on who to get rid of? Look at who he picked to head the FBI. I don't expect anything like a cleanup.

As Carl said to Homer Simpson. "Your really are dumb".

No McVeigh was not a member of the Michigan Militia. No he didn't admit to it.

You do have a little bit right in that he attended one meeting and was refused membership.

This may be a couple of dumb thoughts, and I'm not one who goes for conspiracy theories, however, it occurred to me a week or so ago, that Anthrax has certainly caused a panic (a known to whomever it is that has sent this stuff in the mail). Since it would be a known to cause panic (especially since it was sent to the media--which likes to self-report, and politicians (who have the same problem), the perpetrator would figure they'd get "free airtime." With the free airtime comes free information through the media. The perp. is learning how the postal service and government will detect future Anthrax mailings.

What if this is some kind of "dry run" for the real terror to be unleashed through the mail? Whomever did this has gained valuable information in the past couple of weeks.

Second thought, suppose the FBI is making statements about it being a "right wing group" because they are trying to throw off their suspects. How do we know that Russia hasn't released some of their small pox virus? I think they know more than they're letting on.

It's probably reflex action on the part of most of us, when we see the looney left wing press lash out against some imagined "Right Wing Hate Group" and we flash back to the corrupt years of the tyrannical clinton administration and the action of the drunken reno's justice crime family. It's Iraq that's behind this .... period!!!

It is going to take more than a Bush appointee to head the FBI to cause me to regain any confidence in the agency since, Ruby Ridge, Waco, OKC bomber trials and investigations, etc. I am willing to give them a chance but this always looking for a right wing kook attitude has go to change, especially when we are at war with Islamic Fundamentalists bent on our destruction.

Only a pure idiot would tie Anti- American activities to the right wing.

The problem that you and many others have is that you don't understand what is meant by this. A "Right Wing Hate Group" is NOT the Eagle Forum, it's Aryan Nations. It's not "National Right to Life" it's "The Brotherhood."

In short, they are people that very, very few FReepers would care to associate with.

"Refusing to accept the earth as our sacred mother, these Christians have become a dangerous threat to the survival of humanity. They are the blight on the environment and to believe in Bible prophecy is unforgivable."

--VP Al Gore, in his book EARTH IN BALANCE, p.342

This is an "Urban Legend." If you check the book out of the library and go to P. 342, you will find no such statement.

Go HERE for an explanation of how this bogus rumor got started. Remember: Truth is always better than myth in advancing the cause of truth.

McVeigh attended one meeting, was never invited to join and was told he wasn't welcome. Nobody in the Michigan Militia had ever even seen Nichols. Where ever you're getting your info, it's wrong.

If these are "conservatives," why is it that the only thing either Xlinton or Hitlery have gotten is some rotten gunk with salmonella in it?

They don't say "conservatives" they say "right wing hate groups." The fact is that such groups don't differentiate between Bill Clinton and George W. Bush. To them, they're all "Demo-publicans," just two faces to the same coin.

You're right. My house would be referred to as a compound if I ever ran afoul of the BATF, as would yours.

All I read is media saying this and quoting "senior FBI or govt officials". I want names.

You aren't going to be given names. I noticed that just since yesterday (Friday) that the "blame it on domestic" terrorists push is on for real in the media. It has quickly gone from an outside "possibility" to almost an odds on favorite that the source of the anthrax is domestic. Since this simply flies in the face of all reason, I have to believe that the power people already know where the anthrax came from and that they want that information buried because they either don't want to deal with it or they are afraid to deal with it. They are afraid to just come out and say, "Yeah, it was Iraq" or "it was Russia." Then what? I think Hussein called Washington's bluff and they're going to let him get away with it. Washington would rather sacrifice a few thousand American lives than use nukes on Iraq and "look bad" in the world community.

It is certainly possible that domestic anti-American eco-terrorist LEFT-WING groups might be implicated.

They DO share an agenda with the anti-American Islamic Terrorists! Hello FBI!!!
