We have to keep the idea of WE HAVE TIME, WE ARE PATIENT, WE WILL BE VICTORIOUS in the forefront to counter the media's spin that the public is losing it's patience with the handling of this present campaign against the Taliban and Al Quieda.
Dear me I forgot to leave something for lunch, how about another shrimp on the barbie
Off we go into the wild blue yonder
Climbing high into the sun;
Here they come zooming to meet our thunder,
At'em boys, giv'er the gun!
Down we dive spouting our flames from under,
Off with one hell-uv-a roar!
We live in fame or go down in flame,
Nothing'll stop the US Air Force!Minds of men fashioned a crate of thunder
Sent it high into the blue
Hands of men blasted the world asunder,
How they live God only knew!
Souls of men dreaming of skies to conquer
Gave us wings ever to soar,
With scouts before and bombers galore,
Nothing can stop the US Air Force! Here's a toast to the host of those who love the vastness of the sky,
To a friend we send the message of his brother men who fly.
We drink to those who gave their all of old,
Then down we roar to score the rainbow's pot of gold.
A toast to the host of men we boast the US Air Force.
Off we go into the wild sky yonder,
Keep the wings level and true!If you'd live to be a gray haired wonder,
Keep your nose out of the blue!
Flying men guarding our nation's boarders,
We'll be there followed by more,
In echelon we carry on!
Nothing'll stop the US Air Force!
Hip, hip, hurrah!!
FINAL INSPECTION
The Soldier stood and faced God
Which must always come to pass
He hoped his shoes were shining
Just as bright as his brass.
"Step forward you Soldier,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"
The Solider squared his shoulders and said
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't
Because those of us who carry guns
Can't always be a saint.
I've had to work on Sundays
And at times my talk was tough,
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny
That wasn't mine to keep.
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just to steep,
And I never passed a cry for help
Though at times I shook with fear,
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand,
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand."
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod
As the Soldier waited quietly,
For the judgement of his God.
"Step forward now, you Soldier,
You've borne your burden well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell."

Tonkin, etal, for those of you who make links to the Canteen on other threads, I've created a banner so you can have an image link instead of just the text. (Jim Rob's going to put it on the FR front page) Here it is:
Kudos!

I found this posted on the Boston Freep thread and thought that this hometown patriot's efforts were worth sharing.
My first official FReep!!
I really want to know if the "speakers" were for peace or not? All I heard was the social issues in and outside the U.S.
I did figure out a few of their tactics though and ran with them.
1. Blame the U.S. for every starving, oppressed, and executed person in every country of the world.
2. When I have an answer to EVERYTHING they spew from their pie-holes, they take to personal insults.
I had to explain to a few that I didn't "get" the medals on my chest, I "earned" them. They are not tarnished because they were from another member of my family that "served" in the past, nor were they sitting on a store shelf somewhere. They are just 10 years old.
The exact quote from the nut-ball mentioned previously was "God bless America! F$@^@%^ every other country! There is only enough God for one country!!" After seeing this fruit-cake twice, I still don't know what his views are (typical). I DO know there are millions of showers in this country that he could use and chooses not to.
And so it went on. People, mostly the "working-class etc..., joined us in jeering the minions. Veterans from the shelter, veterans walking by, veterans holding signs.
The march went by numerous stores/restaurants that were filled with workers/patrons who all came out to support the FReepers!! The only one on the enemy's side was the enemy--and they were NOT large in numbers.
So the march went on. The people on the sidewalks continuously refused their liberal-dribble hand-outs, and continued to support the FReepers with enthusiastic "thumbs-up."
Park Square--the same anti-American, blame the U.S. for everything speeches, with the same stench of the unwashed. The only thing NOT touched on was abortion, but then they couldn't blame us for the deaths of innocent children in every country known. Not ONCE did I hear anything about supporting America's troops.
Just after Little Bill departed (myself and awestk remained), one speaker referred to a sign held by awetsk (6000+ American's DEAD, WHERE'S THE OUTRAGE??!!!) and included it in his spewing of domestic/humanitarian/racist outbursts. Everytime he said "Over here, one of my 'brothers' has a sign that says..." he was met by a loud "YOU are not my brother!!!" from my mouth to everyone's ears.
It was almost time for them to go roll another blunt, so they marched on to an unknown location. I continued with them (awestk and girlfriend departed) as the last voice. IT was pretty much the same--restaurants/stores/general-public supporting ME and giving them sh!t. More hand-outs were angrily refused and I received more applause, thumbs-up, and handshakes from the average American.
I ended my stay at Copley Square. For an hour, getting patriotic honks from passers-by, I stood on the corner as the lone soldier in a sea of pedestrians that supported me. I thought it was kind of a fitting end for my first FReep, right back where I started from and where Little Bill and Co. found me a few weeks ago.

Today's Boston Freep, check out ElectricStrawberry's post #6. (^:
Now, about those shrimp....I wish I liked shrimp, but alas I don't care for fish or shell fish or sea food. (I know, much of it is so good for you) What kind of sausage? Links? Can you throw maybe a chicken breast on the grill for me? Or a hamburger patty will do since we're not having steaks. :^)
Whatizzat... German flatulence? I'm just glad I can't smell it.
