Well, since John Ashcroft announced yesterday that The Anti-Terrorist Bill has abolished the Fourth Amendment (Of the Bill of Rights), maybe we should use the boards here to get used to losing a few more of our rights.... You can sensor me if you like....I know that I don't have the Right to speak freely, its really just a priveledge. (BARF!)

I have noticed that any thread that is not completely fawning over Bush's handling of the war are quickly removed and appear nowhere on the page. I have never written anything that I believed to be anti-American or which may hinder the effort, rather I believe America's strength comes from all of the populous having a say in decision making through the expression of views. Given this, any attempt to squelch views is actually anti-American and contrary to the war effort. In addtion I have read news from other sources that I expect to see discussed on this page but do not so I wonder if the particular materials have been censored. An example is the story in today's Greenville News (Greenville SC- the heart of conservatism, represented in our conservative paper)that said that the new and most promising suspect in the anthrax mess are American extreme rightists (they named anti-Israeli Aryans). If censorship is the order of the day here perhaps the name "Free Republic" should be relinquished for use by those who are truly interested in the very American practice of open discussion and perhaps the page can take the name "Apartheid Republic" or "Narrow Minded Republic" (I guess now we have a test of Jim's promise that there will be know elimination of comments on this thread).
