If I invited 50,000 people over to my house, I would not have any control over what they would say to each other, nor would I want to control what people say.

You've got a lot of reading ahead of you.

Regards.

Well, now, there's a non sequitur if I ever read one. That should win an award or something.

Well, that's one of our new rules. We only pull the best ones. Thanks, and Happy Thanksgiving!

Did you read the whole verse? It's a good one.

Re the thread: "Should women be allowed to vote?"

They yanked my sarcastic post before they yanked the whole thread. Apparently, the words "Negroes" and "Orientals," when used in jest to make a point about tolerance are more offensive than an Ann Coulter quote claiming most women don't understand economics and aren't responsible or hard-working (except her, of course, because she's ever-so-special).

The real question, of course, is Should TLB be allowed to post vanities?

Yet if one of them was being disruptive, you'd probably escort him or her outside.

Sure I've read the verse. I've read the whole Bible several times, in many versions over a period of about seventeen years.

The verse you cited has absolutely no application to a discussion of the harmful perpetuation of racial/gender/religious stereotypes or even universal suffrage, for that matter. Find the verse to support your opposition to my post regarding those topics and you'd at least be sticking to the subject. You might even find something new in your searching, like Galatians 3:28.

Who is TLB anyway? He stomps around like we are supposed to know who he is. Maybe he has a little video camera in front of a sheet in his basement and sends tapes to his local access; I don't know.

Sometimes you need to use a bullet instead of birdshot to make a point with guys like that, figuratively speaking, of course. They just don't get the nuances.

Here in Kentucky, we have a very involved, young conservative activist who used to log on as "louisvillepatriot." He was banned weeks ago; will he ever be allowed back on Free Republic?

One thing I would *really* like to see is the ability to log in via SSL. I am more than a little concerned that Username/Password is going clear text over the Net. The option to use a secure login would be great.

I think the Moderators are doing a good job on Thread Management, but duplicate threads are still a problem. Not directed to FR Management, but folks need to take the 1 minute or so and check to see if the story they will be posting is already here. I can understand if there is Breaking News, but geesh people, stop being lazy and checdk before you post.

Oh, I'd also like to see cheese for all on FR... Venezuelan Beaver Cheese if possible.

Your verse talks about salvation being for everybody but only through Christ. I agree.

My verse talked about governing.

Your verse talked about marriage, not governing. My desire is not for "every man," just my husband. To extrapolate from that verse that all men should rule all women is ridiculous. It's not right to stretch a verse to fit your own ends, that's how cults begin.

What happened to the thread about that poll showing Catholics accept Muslims more than they do Fundamentalist Christians?? I am not saying that I agree with the poll, but there was some good information being exchanged on that thread about the Bible, that I was going to read to my wife. However, this morning, the ENTIRE thread is gone! It cannot be retrieved through the Search engine and it cannot be retrieved through my Self Search. What gives? It was here not ten hours ago !

Why should the governing of a nation be any different than in a marriage? The founders were right. This is a republic, not a democracy.

Okay, I gave up LONG AGO on getting my questions answered on this post from literally hundreds of posts ago. But I still await answers to my questions from post # 1670 and post # 1676

Then you'd better get your checkbook out to support me in the fashion I'm used to, hubbie, cause I'm your basic high maintainance model. If you want to do my thinking for me it's going to cost you. There's a few other things in a marriage relationship I'm pretty sure I don't want from you, though.

Why don't you just stop talking nonsense? You can't wish the world the way you want it to be, and I obvoiusly can't wish it the way I want it, because you're still posting on this thread.

It would be nice if each post could be put through a word filter to eliminate profanity.

You could also elminate words like: vile, puke, spew, monger, trash, garbage, snot, evil, satan, stink and few other choice words. If you did that, there would be some FR members who would not have anything left to say. :-)
