You're sort of right about one thing when you said we were trying to "buy their love". Of course we are--we need to keep these Northern Alliance people happy so that they will help us out. One hand washes the other and all that. That's another part of war, too. Only it's not "buying their love" it's "winning hearts and minds". So what if it's a propaganda campaign? You make it sound like there's something wrong with it.

Well as you applaud the US being a prostitute that is the laughing stock of the Islamic world..I will repeat something a political analist said on fox when this started (you may have forgotten but this started when some Pakastani men rammed a plane into the WTC)

Any way he said this war would be far different than the cold war, that the Russians loved their lives more than they loved their philosophy. He observed that the Muslims love their religion more than their lives.

So now the question for us is what do we love more, our lives or our faith?

Well said -- as usual.

I was reading Jeremiah last night and was struck by the currency of the debate between Hannaniah and Jeremiah. After Judah had been conquered by Nebuchadnezzar (Jr.) and the leadership carried away, Jeremiah told them the Word of God -- that it would last 70 years. But Hannaniah, the false prophet had a more pleasing message -- "I will break the yoke of the king of Babylon. Within two years I will bring you back ...."

This reminded me of the appeal of the talking heads to whom a three-week war against Mohammedan terror is a "quagmire" -- and how popular it is to say "This is a small group of terrorists and this will all be over soon." Suppose it isn't? Suppose this is the life and death struggle between Christianity and Mohammedanism with a large slice of pleasure-seeking (and totally confused) agnostics and 'atheists' on the side spouting nonsense? With the evil side controlling a large segment of our oil supply? Suppose this is just what it appears to be -- good versus evil -- and a large group of Americans didn't know that was a choice they had to make?

One sees how confusing it is to liberals -- "Well they are sincere, aren't they?" Yes, well, sincerely evil. As some are beginning to ask, suppose -- just suppose -- God were to use this massive presence of sincere, pure evil in the world mouthing pagan platitudes to bring about a true Christian revival? Is it possible?
