Possible Nuclear Terror Alert
Arizona Republic Valley and State | 24 October 2001

Posted on 10/24/2001 9:13:13 PM PDT by Azarona Joel

It was reported today that the Squaw Peak Hiking Trails org. has issued a warning to it's members to stay away from the popular trails on Squaw Peak in North Central Phoenix after several sightings of mideastern men with " HEAVY ORANGE BACKPACKS" were sited at all hours, including at 4:30 a.m. hiking on and around the mountain! Local F.B.I. says there is no cause for alarm, as has local law enforcment!

I went to St. Mary's - all 12 years.
Baby Boomer, recovering Hippie Liberal Democrat.
Younger brother told me, when he was older, that he quit the alter boy gig because of an overly friendly priest. He had good instincts and nothing happened. But it truly is an epidemic, sick bastards.
Cruised central in my 53 chevy! ahhh

I believed he said these planes fly to the West half way between his house and Squaw Peak. And they DO. Almost directly over my house, all day long. I can hear them.

But get this, the FAA won't allow newschoppers to fly in the city yet, in Phoenix or LA. FAA won't lift the ban. In one city, an NBC newschopper can now fly in the city, but can not report the news.

October 23, 2001

RTNDA AND OPERATORS OF NEWS HELICOPTERS ASK FAA COMMISSIONER TO LIFT BAN

News reporting is one of the few prohibited flight operations in Enhanced Class B airspace. Agency actions allow a student pilot to operate but a news media pilot with extensive military and law enforcement experience, well known to the local civic and police authorities and to the FAA, and operating a helicopter that is well marked, cannot do his job. Just last week, an NBC pilot in one of the twenty-seven communities, where general aviation flights were allowed to resume, was advised by local FAA officials that he could fly his helicopter - but he could not report the news. Therefore, we cannot help but draw the inference that this is not a security issue but the primary focus of this flight restriction appears to be suppression of news - which raises significant First Amendment issues.

"...but if this group of men was Caucasian, doing the same and carrying the same backpacks, would there be a press release?"

Yes, if it had been Caucasians who hijacked those airplanes and blew up our citizens!

Could be, I only listen to as background when I record it or trying to fall/can't sleep. Hoagland lost me when *his* view of Mars is pushed as the top priority of NASA (nevermind THE most important event in the history of manking), and since NASA doesn't see it his way, they're covering up life on Mars.

However, even a broken clock is right twice a day, and while I'm dubious about a nuke being *stashed* there, he may be on to something.

From a convenient airburst standpoint, isn't the WM the highest point in Washington by law? (except Jimuh Carter giving the highest elevation to the former Soviet Union)

Yes you are right. Didn't George Walker tell us to be aware of unusual behavior and report it?

Who is George Walker?

Let me see, Arab guys practicing with orange backpack nukes on Arizona hiking trails, or ..... Arab guys hiking with orange backpack on Arizona hiking trails, now which is more likely? Why would they risk exposure with practice runs with orange backpacks? Duh.....

"It's good for people to be cautious and to be alert and to report suspicious things," said Marwan Ahmad, publisher of Arizona Muslim Voice, "but if this group of men was Caucasian, doing the same and carrying the same backpacks, would there be a press release?"

This kind of non-logic is, fortunately, falling on deaf ears these days. However, if the caucasians were also raising their fists and singing in Arabic (as the "Middle Eastern Looking" hikers were reportedly doing), it might pique my curiosity a little bit.

"There is no reason for anybody when they see a Middle Easterner here or there to panic," said Ihsan Saadeddin, spokesman for the Islamic Community Center of Phoenix. "There are 8 million Middle Easterners in this country, and they cannot be treated like this."

With all due respect, Mr. Saadeddin, ______ YOU AND THE CAMEL YOU RODE IN ON!! Until "the good Muslims" in this country are seen, in large numbers, uncategorically denouncing events of 9/11, and helping turn in terrorists, then all Muslims, especially Middle Eastern Muslims, are suspects. The group in question here may have been some Boy Scouts, but given recent events, their being stopped and questioned would NOT have been the least bit out of line. Any activity by Middle Eastern Muslims that appears the least bit suspicious should be photographed and questioned by local patriots.

If there is another significant mass-murder by Middle Eastern Muslim terrorists, all bets are off on PC treatment of that group in the U.S.

Did you see this???????

Yes, I have been lurking. But I'm going to have to get back to you with my thoughts. I'm trying to make tee times and all the lines are jammed with Yankees wanting to get in 18 while they are here. If it isn't one thing it's another.

Oh yes they can be and we must treat them as suspects if we are going to survive as a nation.

A mixed bag. But if you are referring to the World Series, it is a strange thing. Much as I would like the D'Backs to win, my sorrow for New Yorkers (and America) following 9/11 makes me hope the Yankees win. I suppose it would be a kind of message to the terrorists of the world. A great storyline would have the Series going to 7 games, every game close, a struggle of titans, with the Yankess winning in the 9th inning. The 7th game would be played in Arizona, but I guarantee you EVERYBODY would be singing "New York, New York" at the top of their lungs. And to think I used to hate the Yankees.

It was played off as an abandoned bit of contraband from a nearbye military base

Oh brother.

"Oh Geez, sarge, I forgot my rocket launcher back at the campfire!"

"Private, that's the second rocket launcher you've lost in a week, now you have *got* to start being more responsible!"

It just struck me that what if the military are taking precautions to shoot down any planes that threaten the stadium a la 9-11? Seeking out places in the hills where they would get a good shot at any plane heading for the crowds? All the media would have to do is deliberately or mistakenly think the men were "middle eastern."

"...explosives or firearms..."

...firearms, from 5+ miles. Must be some of those tank exploding, Sears tower to Wrigley sniping .50's that the congressmen keep trying to ban.

""The Gift of Fear"

It must be read with a critical eye, its an important message destroyed by anti-gun hysteria. It will definitely push fence sitters to go buy a gun if they are already leaning that way or turn them into Million Marxists if they lean the other. Be careful who you give that gift to.
