I see that Lew is singing like a bird to those looking for "Americans" who are willing to blame America for the world's problems. If I'm not mistaken, "Euskaldunon Egunkaria" is a pro-Palestinian, pro-Arab periodical.

We don't have to look very far to see who the enemy really is.

If the US government would pull back in its sanctions against Iraq and military occupations in the Muslim world, they would immediately drop whatever sympathies they have for the terrorists' cause.

Don't you get it? If we would just appease the enemy, it would result in, well, "Peace in our time!"

"If I'm not mistaken, "Euskaldunon Egunkaria" is a pro-Palestinian, pro-Arab periodical."

Well, of course they would sympathize with the Palestinians!

Just ask the Spanish what they think of the Basques... I'll almost guarantee the first three letters that they mention are ETA.

For those who don't know, ETA is a terrorist group that has killed many innocent people in Spain.
ETA stands for "Euskadi Ta Askatasuna" which translates to "Basque Homeland and Liberty".
This patriotic-sounding phrase would make you think that ETA are "freedom fighters".

However, according to Terrorism.com, "Between 700 and 800 people have died as a direct result of their operations."

LOSER Rockwell....Churchill once said that appeasement, while not treason, often has the same result.....this idiot is the HERO of the anti-government, anti-Bush, anti-anybody-that-disagrees-with-us-is-a-socialist gaggle. He is a DISGRACE...and the more these types show their colors by running their mouths the BETTER...as their stupitity is exposed, then many who signed up to listen to their drivel, will see the error of their ways.

This war is about as constructive as the previous ones, which is to say, it is purely destructive, both for the country attacked and for our liberties

Thanks for sharing that gem of wisdom, Lew.

What the US government is fighting for is not justice or even revenge, but to retain the right to be the exclusive decision-maker concerning large-scale destructive endeavors such as that which September 11 represented. The message of the terrorists was that the US is not the only power capable of causing massive bloodshed; the counter-message of the US in this war is to reinforce that idea that only the nation-state can undertake large-scale destruction of life and property and get away with it.

No, the message of the terrorists was that they hate our guts! They hate western culture and they hate Judeo-Christianity, and the counter message of the US is one of justice.

Of course the US cannot put it that way, which is why it has been so anxious to pin the terrorism on some state somewhere, so it can shift into the mode of warfare that it knows best. Already the response to terror has generated more terror of a different and equally unpredictable kind. The nation-state cannot fight these kinds of wars well, and it only ends up creating ever more violent responses. This is not a speculation or pacifist drivel. It is the undeniable historical record.

Apparently Lew didn't hear Bush's speech about a "war without borders."

After the attack against the twin towers in New York and the Pentagon in Washington on the 11th of September, the government of United States didn't act immediately, but now, they're bombing heavily. What should be the conduct of United States and the international community?

What did he want us to do? Start bombing the hell out of everyone before we studied the situation? I thought Lew was didn't give a dern about the international community. Doesn't he usually rail against the global family?

If I tried to rebutt everything in this silly piece I'd be here all night!
