Cops Who Booed Hillary Are Uneducated Who Hate The Smart (My title)

Tidbits

• Drudge reports Senator Clinton was booed at the 'Heroes for New York' concert. Our response: "Heroes" did not boo Senator Clinton. This may sound like sacrilege, but most of the cops and firemen in this town are not heroes. They are working stiffs looking for a secure job from which they can retire in 20 years.

The "heroes" mumbo-jumbo should have stopped before now, but lionizing such people seems to have gone beyond the super men who raced up the stairs in those buildings as everyone else ran down. The lauding has gone so far that it now encompasses the schmucks, turds and rejects who clutter up what are otherwise decent professions, until those who are undeserving start to believe they are somehow worthy of the glory, the praise, the attention. (It's also gone so far that a disproportionate amount of the money raised is earmarked for the families of the few hundred emergency personnel, to the disregard of the thousands of other victims and their families.)

Why would these people "boo" Senator Clinton? Not all did, by any report, but those who did are probably a part of the large number of the cops and firemen in this town are politically conservative, from undiverse neighborhoods, not educated much above high school, and as small-town as you can get and still be from New York City. They are, then, the very types who resent efforts made by forward-thinking, worldly politicians, which how Senator Clinton could be described.

People distrust her, and her husband; or rather, the Clintons tend to bring out anti-intellectualism. It's an ugly American past-time, hating the smart. It's everywhere, pervasive in all media, in the schools, in the workplaces, in the newspapers. The Clintons are big, fat targets, too good to resist by people who feel their anti-intellectual tendencies are supported and approved of by others. They feel authorized to criticize the wonks, the policy geeks, the professional bookworms. Unless you sound unassumingly dull, or like country hick, Americans tend to dislike you. If you know what you're talking about, and you're confident, people think you're lying. Hell, even if you're slightly above average—just smarter than 51 percent of the population—that 51 percent tends to distrust you. In much the same way, it's always the idiots and morons who are the biggest conspiracy freaks: they're so dumb they think smart people are just making everything up, too, and so they'll pay heed to the first intelligible lie that comes along.

Joan Walsh, of Salon(!) had a great rejoinder to people like the jerk who wrote this article:

Who do we think died trying to save the World Trade Center victims that morning, Richard Gere and Ralph Nader? Snotty rock critics?

There's a thread on her article here.

Elitest is not the only thing you can accuse the Demungers of being. Have you noticed how filled with hate the regulars there appear to be? This from the group that constantly attempts to depict conservatives as being hate-filled and war-loving. The venom exuding from their pores onto their keyboards gives the lie to their own depiction of themselves as compassionate, loving, and representative of all the noble things in life. A better immpression is that they are spite-filled, small-minded, reality-challenged humans who have a twisted and discredited political theory that has been exposed as fraudulent by recent events. Thank God the "progressive" ship has been severely damaged by the truth and is sinking fast.

The liberals at Democratic Underground are the most classist, elitist, snobby group of people I have ever read.

Nobody is more classist than a white liberal.

The article is no surprise, in fact it is expected rhetoric from the Clinton Camp. Destroy those that present any opposition to you (in this case even heroic men and women). Remember how the media tried to justify Bill's affair by unearthing every possible affair by former leaders. The lib's are livid over a little booing, as far as I'm concerned those booing were just exercising freedom of speech. It's a wonderful thing!

"Who wrote this article anyway....afraid to put their name on it no doubt."

Sounds like a draft from a chapter of Hilterly's 8 Million dollar book. The article confuses me, however, These dirtbags were only elected because of the vast left wing morons who believed their lies. Intelligent people knew better and voted for the other guy.

The above is another Clinton Spin! I'd take this guy and the Clintons and send them to Ground Zero. Then they could decide who are the hers. 200+ firefighters and cops lost their lives saving thousands.. for a 20 year pension. A lost lifetime is a lot longer than a pension plan.

Awesome reasoning, Josh. May I assume that you are not the typical Liberal Arts major at an Ivy League college?

Thank you, sir. I am a liberal arts major, but instead of the Ivy League, I had the pleasure and privilege of attending Furman University, which, despite the best efforts of its president, remains a bastion of sensible academia. Heck, I even had old professors e-mail me in support of the war last month. ;-)

Mike Moran, the firefighter, is a great American hero. On the other hand, Hillary Clinton, and I didn't watch it, appeared on Hannity & Colmes, by requesting that she would only take questions from the liberal Colmes. This is FoxNews' idea of "fair and balanced" reporting? Freepers, please let FoxNews know what you think of this. I did.

If the Clintons are so "smart," why do they lose their memories when they're put on the witness stand for dozens of inditements?

There's one thing (at least) with this guy's theory: Hillary may have the cunning of a weasel, but otherwise, she's dumb as cement. People should love her, according to this guy.

Talk about sour grapes. I find pieces like this truly fascinating. I am beginning to see a pattern...you might say a fallacy in commentary like this. It involves a truly suprisingly obvious gap in logic, something you would expect a "smart" person, or even a dimwit champion of smart people, to recognize in themselves.....in this case it falls somewhere between "Hillary got booed" and "those working class dummies hate smart people." I am beginning to bore myself, but trudging on....that leap the author makes to answer the question "why?" says so much more about the author's feelings and, perhaps, insecurities than it provides an explanation for the whipping Hillary took. The author is so very childlike, even childish, in her palpable inability to veil them ultra-sour grapes. Quite fucking humourous, and quite Clintonesque, I say.

I guess Hillary should have never gone to talk to all those inferior people, you'd think such a "smart" person would know not to go where they weren't invited. I don't think either Clinton has every done anything to prove they have much smarts.

Memo to Hillary Clinton:

I join the hero firemen and cops (and they ARE heros) in booing you, you psychopathic rodent, you arrogant narcissistic porker, you pitiful lawyer excuse for a humanoid.

I loudly hiss and boo you, your despicable disbarred sociopathic husband, the endlessly vile Janet Reno, and the rest of your DNC vermin for emasculating and corrupting the INS, CIA, Department of Justice, and FBI. You sold all of our nation's nuclear and missle technology to the highest bidder.

Your legacy?

War, economic hardship, death, and the blood of innocents.
