I am a recent graduate of Claremont McKenna College in Claremont (not that low class Montclare) where I studied the Classics and PPEE (Pomposity, Punditry, Excess, and Egocentricity). Currently I am traipsing around Europe from where I am condescending to post my remarks to you.
This year I am a Thomas J. Watson Fellow (and just to rub it in that is why my screen name is watsonfellow) studying Catholic (in the original Latin) and Islamic (in the originial squiggly lines) culture in Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East (and if you're not impressed yet there's more).
I am a traditionalist Catholic who wakes up every morning to an alarm clock doing Gregorian Chants in the original Latin. I believe that scratching your crotch during Interleague Baseball games should be abolished and that Evelyn Waugh is the greatest snob of the century (I read all the Cliff Notes about him and saw the video of "The Loved One" 537 times.) I also support the idea that redundancy can be quite catchy as well as contagious.
First of all to prevent all the flamings, I should say that I am better than you because I am a traditional conservative, not one of you low-class populist conservatives. That being said, I thought it the height of rudeness for these firemen and policemen to boo and yell at the Senator this weekend. It lacked dignity and class. They should have kept their low-class populist mouths shut and have allowed the Senator to continue to believe that everybody loved her.
I wonder what Burke et al (I learned to quote Burke and et al in my PPEE classes to impress you ignorant populists) would have said about this conservative embrace of very questionable manners. Even my butler found this to be quite quite rude. In fact I'll never forget how he tut-tutted over it for a full 5 minutes.
The policemen and firemen should have just done nothing when she appeared on stage. Remember, we as traditional conservatives must not ever ever show our emotions in public. Much better for the Senator to just roll over the peons. Remember, the important thing is not to express your true opinions but to act in a dignified way.
Thank you and did I tell you that I speak fluent Latin, drink port wine, and did a lot of PPEE PPEE in college after drinking too much of that port wine (the labels were in Latin)?
How terribly rude of those ruffians for not being spotlessly clean while digging through the rubble. Their deportment in this area reflects poorly on them and perhaps, upon reflection, explains why they booed the good Senator. And remember, ruffians may be seen (unfortunately) but they MUST NOT be heard.
well here, enjoy... hillary boo video...
No, I'm better. BTW, I have been trying for a few years to get him into a humor writing contest with YOURS TRULY.
You should be.
Thanx.....for the insult. And for that I shall order my servant to thoroughly thrash you.
Richard W.
For she will never enter the sacred canon of Western thought.
Actually more perfectly than you would be expect. Take a look at my post in Reply #58. It sounds like a good parody, right? WRONG. It is actually a word-for-word direct quote from the ORIGINAL watsonfellow that he sent me in a FreepMail just a little while ago.
Cheese ?? I like cheese...but only very expensive brie,
or perhaps a lovely imported goat cheese with roast garlic cloves...
mmmmm
:o
The Frugs did they really exist, or was it just some bad double barrel? I do remember their unhit "It fells like homemade sh!t" Could it be that you and I are the only ones who know about them?
But, then, I read the post that you are making fun of- and you did a GREAT JOB!
I'm sometimes surprised by the apparent inability of some (not all!) Freepers to recognize satire, sarcasm, and the other fine arts when they encounter them here. (I once did a running joke about murdering drug addicts by mixing Anthrax with heroin and cocaine- and I think that only ONE of at least 70 respondents recognized it as satirical).
There are some pretty damn humorless folks here!
Yes, quite. Just as a bounder can never advance to being a cad.
