Should Conservatives Support Rudeness? Why booing Senator Clinton is beneath us.

First of all, to prevent the flamings, I should say that I am a strong conservative, and my number one issue is the life issue and so I am not at all a supporter of the Clintons etc.

That being said, I thought it the height of rudeness for these firemen and policemen to boo and yell at the Senator this weekend. It lacked dignity and class. I thought we conservatives were supposed to stand for such things, or perhaps this is just what we say, but do not practice.

I wonder what Burke et al would have said about this conservative embrace of very questionable manners.

The policemen and firemen should have just done nothing when she appeared on stage, no clapping, no booing, the silence would have expressed the same thing, but in a much more dignified way.

I am reminded of a Grace Slick concert in Germany. Drunk out of her mind, she took to the stage and began insulting Germans about the war and the results of losing. She was largely met with silence. Then, some started to get up to walk away, but the crowd urged them back in their seats to sit and observe the drunken and stupid woman make a horses' butt end out of herself.

You may be interested in this -- according to this month's Vanity Fair, China Kantner, Grace Slick and Paul Kantner's daughter (who they originally named "god", with a small g), is a devout Christian!

No, I'm sorry..I don't...I wish I could remember who was involved.
It's worth searching for....happend in September or October 2000. A bunch of freepers called into Gore's open press conference call after someone posted it on FreeRepublic, some asked wacky questions pretending to be journalists(well quasi-journalists;)....no one could tell that the call had been hijacked until the flushing toilet sounds. The rest of us got the play by play action on the board...still makes me grin.

When it comes to the Clintons, booing and hissing are very polite to do, throwing rotten eggs and tomatoes would also be appropriate but a little less polite.

This is incredible. I am called all manner of names because I make a very light criticism of the rudeness shown to Sen. Clinton, and yet those freepers who have threatened her with physical harm are viewed as fit company?

Normally I would agree with you about not booing, but Hillary doesn't have the right to use the Firemen and Policemen who have been through so much just to push her own agenda

Also, she holds herself out to the public, she's a public person and we are free to critique her. She earned every boo she got and then some.

If I had been there I would have booed. I would boo Hitler, I would boo the terrorist. Some earn a boo. Some earned our contempt. She's one of them.
