Yup. A lot of the mine fields are not even mapped, no-one knows exactly where the mines are.

I have to believe that we have some very sophisticated methods for finding and/or detonating mines remotely. We still can't be using the old "crawl on your bell and carefully poke a knife in the dirt ahead of you" method. And if it is classified--don't tell me.
