Why in the heck is the House during a time of War voting on such trivial BS as how chummy of a relationship we have with Australia?

This is an asinine way for these people to spend their time and our money!

I think that Sandy is exactly right. We love Australia, but our federal legislature is not charged with patting foreign nations on the back. Every time Congress engages in such a misappropriation of the salaries and support we are paying for Congress each member who participates in the vote should be personally docked in their pay billed a prorated fee to recover the salary and office and building and security expenses that they wasted.

If we had more men like Ron Paul dedicated to making Congress operate the way the founding fathers intended for it to operate, we'd have far better laws, far fewer laws, far fewer worries about sneaky freedom-usurping laws being foisted upon us whenever we blink our eyes, and in short, far less fascism than the Bad Deal that the New Deal forced upon us.

BTW,  Ron Paul is a he, not a "he/she." If you know so little about him I am surprised you would care to waste a thread asking about such a fluffy issue as this. However, if you know something important about this that does not meet the eye, tell us!

Nowhere, in FR's stated puposes, and reson d'etre, does it say that this site is a primary idolitry tool for Ron Paul; a man who runs under GOP colors ( and takes their money ! ) , because he can't get elected as the Libertarian he is. He's about as valuable to this nation and the GOP, as Jeffrords.

You'd best reread the rules. It doesn't say that no one may not ever say a bad word against Paul.

,,, President Bush said this war will be long and it will be fought on many fronts - one of those mentioned was diplomacy. This morning I heard the US was going to reward Pakistan with economic benefits because of it's stand (which could change at any time). Given the input over the years from Australia towards US interests, I would have thought Ron Paul's vote would have been reflex in the affirmative. I suspect he has been very badly informed or he's out of touch with the issue.

Because he couldn't get elected dog catcher as a Liberetarian. So, for all of his supposed " principles " he runs as a Republican, and takes their money to boot. You should look back a little further. Ron Paul was first elected as a Republican then ran for president as a Libertarian and finally returned to the Republican fold where he belongs.

Henry Bonilla might be "the best conservative" if he were being compared to Hillary Clinton or Barney Frank. Bonilla is a liberal. He's typical of republican politicians, most of whom are liberals. Ron Paul is one of the few conservatives in Congress.

I fully support Representative Paul in this matter, and I only wish he would go even farther. I am personally urging my own Congressman to declare war on Australia, as retaliation for its unprovoked act of terrorism upon the United States.

I am, of course, referring to the unleashing of Steve "Crocodile Hunter" Irwin upon unsuspecting Americans. Know this, Aussies - this horrific act has put you beyond the pale, outside the community of civilized nations. I demand that you withdraw this weapon of mass-destruction immediately, and begin making reparations to the millions of innocent, yet permanently scarred victims. Otherwise, we shall have no choice but to respond in kind.
