PS: Buy all the high cap mags you can, they are not easy to come by for the Rugers. At least 6 thirty round mags. Check www.sportsmansguide.com. They also have good deals on bulk 5.56mm. Also check www.cheaperthandirt.com and www.ammoeric.com for cheap bulk ammo. You should not pay over $0.11 per round in bulk for good new south african military or Russian Wolf.

Don't leave your ruger mags full for a long time though, rotate them.

"I always suspected that the dogs could sniff out powder/propellents.

Not if they're in a metal case/can. Ammo contains powder in a hermetically sealed container, the crimped bullet is the seal. That means no gas/vapors go in and out. What the dogs sniff is the bore cleaner/powder solvent. If you get it on your hands it soaks in. It's not going to come out in the shower. The dogs can't tell the difference between powder solvent and Kiwi shoe polish.

Robinson could face up to five years in prison if convicted.

This is insane. We have 300,000 deportations that aren't being enforced, and the 'powers that be' are worrying about an American excercising his Constitutional Rights?

It was not clear why Robinson was carrying the assault weapon and ammunition in his sport utility vehicle.

He is a free man, and does not need any reason or justification for carrying an "assualt" weapon. If anyone needs "justification" for carrying weapons, it is the police who arrested him. They are here to serve us, not the other way around.

"His boyz back in da Hood have SKS and MAK-90 rifles. "

Many people not in the hood have them.

I don't think it will be difficult for dogs to be trained to find guns and ammo.

What about the .223 in softpoint? You said that the FMJ is formidable. And do you know anything about the 7.62 X 39 in FMJ, Hollowpoint, and AP?

It's not, I was just commenting on the sources of fragrance the honest dogs can pick up. The other dogs respond to a handler's cue.

If a few thousand of us started sprinkling powder here and there, we could maybe drive the dogs nuts?

Finally, we may have a sympathetic defendant with money to serve as a test case against NJ's unconstitutional law.

Exactly! And the Emerson decision would seem to give him substantial legal ammo in challenging the NJ law. The NRA and GOA should beat a path to his door.

Can't honestly say that I'm conversant enough to discuss all the intricate details of those ballistics and terminal impact comparisons. I was simply pointing out that the .223 is not necessarily "low end" by any means in terms of its general effectiveness. There are so many variables that come into play with a detailed analysis that it's best I leave it to the experts.

Now that I think about it though, why bother with any of these puny rounds, when you can just convert your existing AR to accomodate the far superior ballistic performance of the venerable .50 BMG.

Check out this nifty little contraption for a fun afternoon of casual plinking. :)

Nice looking carry piece. I already have one rabbit gun, but maybe I can talk my wife into a second one.

You have a great weapon. The iron sights on mine were dead-on straight from the factory. If you are going to get a scope for it, I would reccomend a good 4X (it's all you really need).

It's a damn tough gun with a great bolt and will take all the use and abuse you give it...plus, it's easy to clean. Spend the extra money to get good clips. Enjoy!-)

Here's a follow up article that should demonstrate that Damian had the right idea.

Associated Press

Bradford Hunt

MILWAUKEE -- Two Green Bay Packer players were robbed by a man with a gun outside a restaurant Tuesday night. No one was injured and the assailant was apprehended, police said Wednesday.

Sometimes they turn out okay like this story.....sometimes they don't.
