Secondly, if these are actual attacks, then the war's over. US doctrine on bio weapons is "biological = chemical = nuclear". We would be well within our rights to vaporize Afghanistan and call it a day. In fact, we've been warning the rest of the world for years that we would nuke anyone who attacked us this way. If we fail to follow through, then the rest of the world will regard anything we say on the matter as little more than empty threats.
Why is this so hard to understand for some people?
From the point of view of a terrorist: You want your attacks to be publicized and gain attention (that's the whole point). Attacking the media is completely logical from this point of view. Attacking prominent politicians (which the Senate Majority leader certainly is) is completely logical from this point of view. It isn't rocket science.
Certain people (some of them with an obvious agenda) keep asking "Why would Osama attack these Americans? He doesn't have any bones to pick with the media or Daschle!"
Apparently such people have never listened to or read Osama's words. We Americans are infidels. He does hate these people because they are infidels.
In this light the attacks aren't really so difficult to figure out.
The same logic also applies to a madman like Saddam Hussein (since he is probably completely mixed in this).
I am wondering though if ABC and CNN will be attacked since they do provide the best propaganda for the Bin Laden's of the world. If they are not, then our enemies would be showing a modicum of reasoning, but only a modicum.
OK, let's answer with a small battlefield nuke on Saddamn's palace.
