The Neverending Story
An ongoing debate on Scripture, Tradition, History and Interpretation.
Statesmen may plan and speculate for liberty, but it is religion and morality alone which can establish the principles upon which freedom can securely stand. The only foundation of a free constitution is pure virtue. - John Adams |

Beautiful Star of the Sea. Anyone heard that one before?
I believe its from a play on words in Latin. The Latin word for sea is mare (pronounced ma'-ray).
I hope you're kidding. It was my understanding that the praying of the rosary helped in a decisive naval battle, one of the first showings of the power of the rosary.

Thank you, I saw it. I was just wondering why she picked that particular passage as offensive.

Here is my letter which got published Saturday. Top billing, I might add.Wow. The senator could use you on his staff. I would encourage it if I didn't have to end up paying your salary. As usual.

Here is paragraph 62.
"If then we are establishing sound devotion to our Blessed Lady, it is only in order to establish devotion to our Lord more perfectly, by providing a smooth but certain way of reaching Jesus Christ. If devotion to our Lady distracted us from our Lord, we should have to reject it as an illusion of the devil. But this is far from being the case. As I have already shown and will show again later on, this devotion is necessary, simply and solely because it is a way of reaching Jesus perfectly, loving him tenderly and serving him faithfully. "

Wow. The senator could use you on his staff. I would encourage it if I didn't have to end up paying your salary. As usual. Thank you. I did meet the senator one time on an airplane. It was right before the 2000 election, like the Saturday before. I was coming home from a long trip in Germany and wanted to get home to vote. I chatted with him briefly at the beginning and end of the flight from Philly to Pittsburgh. He was very nice. He sat in coach.

It is sad to me that for DeMontfort the only reason for glorifying the Lord always seems to be that in doing so it glorify's Mary. I know that many people may take it to be the reverse but it just doesn't work that way. Those words that you say he wrote about the Lord are so much better than the pap that he writes about Mary. The Marian pap ctl/alt/delete's all the truth that he may stumble upon about Him.

Let's take Daniel for example. He disobeyed the King (i.e. authority) when he was told to worship the idol, but he did not sin because he was obeying the will of God by not bowing down to a false god. God specifically tells us to obey authority, yet Daniel was not sinning when he denied the King. An excellent point, JM, thanks.

Hey vmatt, whats up with Nate? did you talk with him about his leaving?Yes, he is simply frustrated and seems his family is fine so none need be too concerned about his phsical well being anyway although I'm sure all prayers are appreciated by him. Seems Jesus wasn't kidding when he said he came to bring not peace but a sword. Christianity has been anything but peaceful.
To: ksen
God does tell us not to bear false witness. How do you define "false witness"?
To: PayNoAttentionManBehindCurtain
Well I have desided to convert to a catholic, what do you all think? BigMack I'm most interested to see where this is going... ;o)
To: SoothingDave
If it were a biblical term I would be much more familiar with it.
To: vmatt
Christianity has been anything but peaceful. You can say that again! Its only peaceful if you don't stick your head above the crowd.

It is sad to me that for DeMontfort the only reason for glorifying the Lord always seems to be that in doing so it glorify's Mary. I know that many people may take it to be the reverse but it just doesn't work that way. You have this backwards because your mind is closed to the reality that Marys role is to lead us to Christ.
Those words that you say he wrote about the Lord are so much better than the pap that he writes about Mary.
Are you doubting that DeMontfort wrote this? Do you agree with him here?
The Marian pap ctl/alt/delete's all the truth that he may stumble upon about Him.
Is this your personal opinion or do you have a source for this statement?

You can say that again! Its only peaceful if you don't stick your head above the crowd. But what if that's exactly what God does with you?
