Said has a certain standing in leftwing European, Palestinian and Egyptian circles that is not negligible. Do I think he has the power to concretely alter events on the ground? No. But I do think some elements in that column are new, and Said's influence among Arab intellectuals puts those elements on the table when solutions to the current situation are discussed by Arab leaders and their advisors.
That's all I'm saying.
As long as the terrorists desire to scuttle any peace deal short of Islamic sharia law imposed on all of "Palestine from the river to the sea", they will hold the ultimate veto card.
The rest is just worthless chatter. What counts is the terror bomb peace deal veto.
