Scuse me! I am a native Texan and also have a large cottonwood tree in my backyard. In all of my 49 years, I have never seen cottonwoods shed in the fall. It has always been in the late spring.
To: leilani
Again, as was stated repeatedly by the people who witnessed these events, THEY HAVE SEEN cottonwood tree crap before and what they saw was not it. It likely was spider stuff.

Maybe leilani is busy reading the entire thread, as I suggested.

I've tried off and on for hours to give you folks in Dallas a Halloween link that contains instructions for making a "balloon spider". Having tried in vain I submit the following:
http://www.hauntedhalloween.com/halloween/how_to/ehow/How%20to%20Make%20a%20Balloon%20Spider.htm

LOL Thanks!

Thought spiders might be the in-decoration for you folks around Dallas.. If so, see my post to Le-Roy #309 and maybe the info will take you to the Halloween page that shows you how to make balloon spiders!
Rest easy....tomorrow is another day.
To: Dixielander
The whole site is cool.

I have a new fallout theory (if it looks anything like the fluffy stuff in a link one of the FReepers posted). It is wool being shed by thousands of Sheeple who finally awoke from their fat and happy grazing and shed their Sheeple coats on September 11.

...a personal thank you on behalf of all arachnophobes on FR for your lovely graphics. UGH!!!

one final reply. I was golfing today in the outskirts of Dallas and the damn webs were everywhere. As the sun crossed the sky we could see webs covering the ground. Little bitty spiders were very very busy! When the wind gusted, up went the webs to ???? who knows where! It was very cool to figure this out. The spiders were bitty little white things. Spinning like a crazed liberal!

Serious post. Stupid (as usual) thread. Amazingly, missing the tin foil graphic, something to be thankful for.
To: babylonian
Perhaps the stuff falling from the sky is what keeps the sheep stupid, although I thought it was the stuff falling from the media, the culture, etc. Think about this: Even the line from the movie where Leslie says, "Keep a moving folks, nothing to see here," as the fireworks factory explodes, tells people to laugh at danger, not examine it and act according to normal instincts of self-preservation.

Hey, you may have a point! Especially as there was so much of it. Seems they still couldn't overcome some of those inherent liberal tendencies, and had to share their mess with everybody else...;^)
