What is going on in Dallas?

Folks, please excuse the vanity, but I would like to get others to look at this.
If there is anyone in Dallas with a telescope or a good set of binoculars, get outside and point them SE, towards Kaufman Cty.
There are currently thousands (literally) of wispy, white 'streamers' of something drifting down through the sky. This stuff is falling all over my yard, all over Forney, and all the way out to Terrell.
Could this be the same 'harmless' stuff which fell in Trappe, MD. last week? I don't know, but it is truly bizarre.

Keep us posted on your scanner info. Where is Harris County?

I have noticed an unusually large number of butterflies during this, as well...flying back and forth, back and forth through this stuff, almost like barracuda encountering a school of bait-fish.
Wait - carnivorous butterflies!?! OMG, it's worse than I thought!

I am not paranoid. I am following several threads, this is one of them. If you want to know what is going on here, just read the thread.

--by all means see if you can collect several samples in a glass jar! Just be careful touching the stuff, could be spider webs as indicated, of course, could be something else. Two different friends of mine saw something similar, both of them accidentally touched the stuff and wound up coughing up blood and being sick for weeks, a few years ago. One of them, a nam vet, went to the VA hospital in atlanta (decatur), line was out the door with guys with similar symptoms and stories, and NOTHING ever on the news about it. And yes, for the goonish cretins who love to cry tinfoil every chance they get, go ferit, they both were watching highly unusual "trails" in the sky at the same time. One of them-the one who is not a vet, had to go on antibiotics for quite a few weeks, and the docs never did say what it was. The other-the nam vet-got disgusted at the length in the line, knew he wasn't going to get in that day, and went home and just toughed it out, said it was worse than any "flu" he had ever had.

That does it... I'm going outside to have a look around Brazoria County.
P. S. Brazoria County is south of Houston.

Southeast Texas... Houston and the surrounding area. I'm pretty far north in the county, almost at the Harris/Montgomery county line.

Thanks for the info. I am in NY, and not familiar with Texas geography.

In teh summer I recall seeing cottonwood fallout in the country when driving, but no more.
To: Lonman219
He said he knew what cottonwood stuff looks like...it isn't hard to figure out either.....
To: Sabertooth
So you think it was Boris the Spider?
To: rwfromkansas
I appreciate the offer, but the only stuff I can find on the ground or strung from obstructions looks and feels like spider-silk.
I s'pose, if there's a rampant local epidemic of pulmonary problems in a few weeks, then I'll know different. I've got enough other stuff to worry about right at the moment.

Chaff released to confuse radar? Or is that stuff metallic, like, uh, tinfoil?

...looked like a giant sperm.
I won't venture too far down that particular path, but, yes, that's what most of these looked like. Now, don't know whether from the temperature rising, the breeze picking up, or what, but most now are just long stringy strands or litle round globs. They're moving too fast to try to track them, though. You have to face the direction of the sun to see them, and, at that point, they're already a ways from you, and still heading south.

I think it's the wrong time of year for cottonwood fluff. That's a springtime event.

"So you think it was Boris the Spider?"Nah, the Russian spiders are with us on this one. It's either Al Qider Spiders or some domestic group.
To: Le-Roy
so you think it is just clumped spider silk?
To: Le-Roy
It has been 4 and a half hours since you started this thread. So, is there nothing in the media? Nada, zip, zilch? Have you called people you know a few miles away, what have they seen?
