Several ways to counteract the caves. Just throw in a constant supply of napalm thus suffocating everybody inside. Flood the cave with FAE and then blow the whole sucker up. Neutron bomb is another option. Also something the emulates earthquake would be nice. After this is done clean out the cave and thoroughly seal it.
