Check out what is left of those planes.

They used to have planes? HAHAHAHA!
After Israel rescued the hostages from Entebbe, I think they hit the Ugandan air force, blew up a couple of their planes.

Right there has to have been about 1/2 of their Su-20/22s. I best the rest of 'em and their Mig's aren't in any better shape either. Remember the purpose of the military is to kill people and break things, well looks like they did a good job on the breaking things part at Herat.

Jeez! Did they ever screw up the golf course!
And the arrangement of the airplanes is just, tres gauche! What an embarassment!

Check out the target on the right in the first set of pictures. Secondary explosions?

Wow, we hit 'em so hard between frames #1 and #2, that the earth's magnetic field changed! . . . (That must've hurt.)

You know, parking those planes like that looks incredibly dumb, but maybe it's not. No one is THAT dumb. Maybe these planes were broken down duds they couldn't fix, or even dummies. I didn't see any delta wing shapes like all the latest fighters have. The planes look a lot like ancient Mig 17's and 19's, dating back to the Korean War period. Also, the remaining mostly intact planes didn't burn - no fuel aboard. This kinda looks like some spoofing going on.

Was that about half the air force? Maybe they can scoop it up and make frying pans.

No one is THAT dumb. I thought it was said that most of their "good" planes and helicopters were flown out of the country - to safety.... But then, who ever knows the truth with these "turbo's"

Also, (looking at the 'damage' to the parked planes, you'll note the craters that continue past the targets. Someone was a little late on releasing the stick of bombs.
Musta been Air Force. :-p
BTW, if you look at the "after" picture of the bombed camp-- take a look at the nice circle in the sand the pressure wave from the BIG bomb made in the upper right of the photo. THAT was a serious explosion.

You could be quite right and I think it's a good theory - but I also have a theory (depending on whether some of the reports we've seen are accurate) that the folks who would normally order the Air Force pukes to move those planes to a safe location are now dead, and the people who would've moved them are more worried about running for the hills than saving some aircraft. I think either theory is potentially valid at this point...

Good pics bump!!

Now I know where the phrase "OOH, that's gonna leave a mark" came from.
That's gotta be the entire Aftrashican Air Force down there, right?
How amusing!

Musta been Air Force. :-p Carefull, lest your astute observation turn out to be an embarrassment.
I'm sure someone knows what frag order those photos came from :)
To: Diogenesis
OUCH!
To: Reweld
Note the absence of any tire marks leading up to where the planes are parked. Looks to me like a lot of wrecks were cleared up.

OK, OK, I'll lay off the country club of the armed forces. It was probably the British in Tornados that missed by 100 yds ...
Note they did NOT crater the runway. hmmmmmm.
Also, while you can't really see, there doesn't appear to be any damage to the airport buildings near by. Maybe we're saving this one for us.
Finally, if we were spoofed, it could be those wrecks and hulks were booby trapped, and we just decided to hit them with some aerial det cord instead of taking up the time of the spec ops guys.
