I'm all for letting the media continue to hype white-powder stories. That way all the copycat terrorists who think bomb-threats, fake hate-messages, and bioterror scares are the height of humor will continue to use powdered sugar to scare the he** out of people and our resources won't be so completely diverted each time someone drops some on a train platform or on courthouse steps. Formernyer, what you need to be on the lookout for is being in the kind of place we know to be targets. There's a pattern to this if you look at it. What has been hit? Where are we vulnerable? I suggest Christmas shopping on the internet this year (Go Ebay) and avoidance of crowds and public bathrooms, but if you have to go into crowds go knowing the odds are still very, very good that you'll be JUST FINE. Just wash your hands and be alert. What really makes us safe now was demonstrated by the passengers of the flight that crashed in Pennsylvania. The terrorists know now that they can't make us sit quietly and hope we'll be released on the tarmac. Anyone spraying something in a crowd now is going to be LYNCHED if the cops can't get there first!!!!!

Several scares in 3 different cities in KY, as well. One in Covington (near my in-laws), 3 in Lexington, and 1 in Louisville (near me - in southern IN). The last I heard - which was a couple of hours ago - the ones in Covington and Louisville were false alarms, but the one in Lexington they are supposedly still investigating.

Downtown? Downtown where. Wait Columbus oh thank God I thought it was here. Guess I can take off the gas mask for a few minutes and stop running around like a chicken with my head cut off. Geeeeeezzzzzzzzzzzzz let's get a grip and only report ANTRAX attacks after the first 10 confirmed cases. Which would = zero attacks based on that standard. Everyone should just about be exhausted from worry by now. Bin Laden is not super human nor are other terrorist and they don't have as much support in the muslem world as the press would have you believe. We just need to kill as many of the bastards as we can for as long as we need to.

Same scenario in Birmingham, AL today. Downtown city blocks closed around the tallest building in the area which is where a package arrived with a "mysterious white powder" and 5 people taken to a local hospital. Don't know whether to believe it or what.

I'm also in downtown Cleveland and have heard nothing. Was by the Fed Building early this afternoon and didn't see anything out of the ordinary.
