"I posted on FR that someone I know sat in on a meeting with David Rockefeller and Giuliani, where Rockefeller told Giuliani to back out of the race, the seat was hillarys. This took place in November of 1999. Lo and behold, Giuliani backs out in March of 2000, citing prostate cancer, and that his weakened health forbade him from pursuing the senate. Yet today, he looks fit as a fiddle, and now wants another term as mayor."

Were I not aware of a somewhat similar circumstance, I'd probably find it really hard to believe what you just posted. My parents know a man who has shared a lot of what really goes on in high politics. This man was in a meeting in New York at some point prior to the first time Clinton was "elected" President (it may have been before Clinton even ran, I can't recall). It seems that there were some Rockefellers there. At any rate, at the end of the meeting everybody was told to shake hands with the next President of the United States, whose position had just been bought - Bill Clinton. (I've read somewhere on the Net that Bill's actual father is one of the Rockefellers, either John II or John III, I think. However, I have not taken the time to try to confirm it.)

I heard the exact same story about GHW Bush in 1988. This one's got legs. :D

You seriously think Rudy faked cancer, dropped out of the Senate race, and went through a very public end to his marriage, all because "Rockefeller told him to"? Rudy would tell Rocky to get effin bent. I don't care what they say his prognosis is, I see a man who's going to have a recurrence as a result of all the stress.

The only part of the story that's true THIS time is that the seat was a lock for Hillary no matter who ran against her. And it wasn't Rockefeller that ensured her win, it was Media Suckup Central, East Coast Division. Hillary didn't have a campaign, she had a cakewalk.
