I have a feeling that this war on terrorism will soon escalate into a war on Islam. This will happen because the vast uneducated peasants of Islam will be the ones to escalate it.

A form of Islam will survive, if the war actually goes down as you say.. an Americanized version that treats the KORAN as a LIVING document, to be altered as necessary to fit the reality and truth of our times... and a radical form, that parallels our "white supremecy" cults in the USA... for the disinfranchized minorities and ethnic groups.

They will both be small but the radical kind will be VERY rare... and they will have one "randy weaver" "david koresch" experience after another... innercity, muslims. I think that they will soon self extinguish except for a few small enclaves in each country that terrorize local law enforcement organizations.

States dominated by Islam proper will cease to exist.
