Ah, I see. Paying a commitment previously made is 'checkbook diplomacy'.
I do not agree with the UN. I think we should pull out. I just do not require my leaders to agree with me on every issue to support their leadership, as you apparently do.
My position remains as it was. I support my President. You don't, and you never will, regardless of how fine a President he is or how successfully he carries out his duties as leader of the free world, because you will require him to agree with everything you think.
I am not that arrogant. You obviously are.
Paying a commitment at this time is a wee bit obvious. Sorry you can't see that. You are an exceptional patriot to put so much faith in career politicians.
"Ah, I see. Paying a commitment previously made is 'checkbook diplomacy'."
You seem to be ignoring "the Deal" that was made, are you not? The "Deal" was this ----"the United States would pay $926 million in back dues if the United Nations reformed its huge bureaucracy and cut the U.S. share of its financial burden."
What I see is that we supposedly got our percentage cut. That is just on Operation of the U.N. But how much has the 'budget' gone up to cover our reduced percentage, and are ALL of the other countries paying their dues? Or do they just take some increased aid from us and pay that into the kitty?
How much REFORMING of the U.N. bureaucracy has occurred?
How about military action and all areas supporting it? We Pay nearly ALL of that. Nope, there's a shell game going here, and we're the Rubes.
