I agree completely - why should Israel exist? Because fifty+ years ago the world said it should. ...and if that's not enough, then because Israel will kick your ass if you go to war with them.

You're free to draw all the parallels that you wish. However, rememember that the present-day disposessed are living people whose hopes for self-determination has been thwarted and whose title to lands and property has been compromised. That's why they're so damned hot.
