Fox News Reports from the White House that Ari Fleischer has issued a statement calling Israeli Prime Minister Shron's remarks of yesterday "unacceptable."

Shron said that he will not allow Israel to be sold down the riner in the name of appeasment, as Czechoslovakia was at the beginning of World War II.

I'm not Jewish; but, it's the same old American political $hit!

Israelis get slaughtered quite often--now add a plane load---and our Administration keeps placating the Palestinians and blames the Israelis.

Bull Dingies!

very good points. btw, the native americans were far more fierce and brave than the cowardly, chicken*hit arab/muslim terrorists. israel needs to eliminate their bordering enemies, expand their regional presence and tell america to stuff the aid.

How do we know that this ISN'T just some slick maneuvering on both the part of the U.S. and Israel? You have to look at the question of what is the goal of the terrorists… what do they want? I've read other articles that state their goal is to piss off the U.S. who will finally side with Israel full-time to go after the terrorists, all of this falls under OBL's plan to galvanize the Muslim world so that they will all unify under "hard line" Taliban-style governments and work together to finally get rid of Israel for good and hopefully boot the U.S. out of the region all together.

And look at what the U.S. is doing - our government (GWB) is trying to divide and conquer. Split them up, turn them against each other and make it appear that we aren't getting along with Israel, a very SMART move. I bet OBL is pretty frustrated right now because the U.S. ISN'T doing what he hoped we would. He fully expected to be attacked by now, but it hasn't happened yet! Oh, and it LOOKS like were even having a spat with Israel, even worse for OBL. If GWB keeps playing his cards right, he will continue to confuse and frustrate OBL's plans by turning these Islamic countries against each other and NOT giving them a reason to unify against us.

You make it sound like giving up the Sudetenland was the Czechs' idea. They hated giving it up. Some in their government wanted to refuse to sign the Munich agreement. But the Brits and the French forced the Czechs to give up the Sudetenland for the greater good of world peace (supposedly).

They weren't "forced". They could have told the Brits and the French to f*ck off, they didn't have to sign the Munich agreement. That is my point. Israel needs to look after itself, and not rely on us to negotiate what is right for them. And most importantly, they should not, under any circumstance give up the good defensive terrain no matter what kind of agreement we push them towards.

I am not talking about the Sudentenland. I am talking about when Germany annexed Czechoslovakia proper.

What I am saying is that President Benes signed away his country's independence. There was no German invasion. The German acts may have been immoral and wrong but they were legal and there was no invasion.

"Christians in Israel have it very good."

As far as I know there is no white slavery of Christian women in Muslim countries. The Israeli government looks the other way at the forced prostitution of Christian Slavic women.

I think that US citizens putting Israel ahead of US interests is unacceptable.

Personally, I think the Bush administration is doing a great job handling and planning the events to unfold. "Measure twice, cut once"... Save a LOT of American GIs in the process. You have to move the troops and fuel, supplies, etc. into position to provide support, air cover, extractions, etc. Remember, this was Soviet territory 11 years ago. I'd LOVE to go along if still in the USAF! Now 40, I'll pay my taxes and cheer the troops. - AND the Chief.

I still believe that patience, appeasement and endless talk is the wrong path to take.

I'm hoping that when we finally strike, all the time intensive planning will pay off. This is going to be very difficult, and it's imperative that our first strike is remarkably successful.

I'm also hoping that the "appeasement" factor is also part of a very calculated game. Systematically taking these pr!cks down one at a time.

"Israel is not a friend to the US." How do you define friend? Name a few countries with the exception of Brittan and Israel whom you would trust to guard your back.

assuming the two were inseperable, which they aren't, it would be. the american and israeli fate have been intertwined since Christ walked the earth. and, God pities the nations that turn their back on israel. but, all this would make the large leap that you believe God's Word.

In my opinion, like it or not,----The ONLY reason that the US condemns Israel is because----"Oil does not flow out of Israel."

Sharon's words may be "unacceptable" but THEY WORKED.

I think you are probably right. It seems pretty clear that Sharon is going to continue going after terrorists. The notable absence of Hamas, Islamic Jihad and Hizbollah from the State Department list of terrorist groups clearly was appeasment of the Arabs. My guess is that though they say his statements are "unacceptable" the adminstration will in fact be more cautious about about cricizing Israel's anti-terrorist strikes, lest they be accused of hypocrysy and appeasment. In fact the State Depatment is today trying to reassure Israel that we will not abandon them.

If Israel and the US are inseparable then Israel should be a state or at least a protectorate...

I don't have a problem with Israel and I hope that they survice in peace. I have a problem with Americans that don't put their own country first. Pollard ring a bell?

Damn straight they are. Who are we to negotiate away their territory. It would be like the UN telling us to give back California to Mexico because the Hispanics there want it that way. I only hope Powell's real aims are different than his apparent aims, or we're going to have another cluster f*** Viet Nam with our 'War on Terrorism'. Will we ever learn?
