I was reading this yesterday and I tend to agree with someone who wrote in and said basically, it was leaked in hopes a big deal would be made about it and be demanded to hear the tapes, only to find him on it saying how we must capture bin laden, do more to get him, on and on...just to make him look good.

Since he could directly control the content, I doubt there's anything there related to personal matters. It would be geared towards his future publishing of memoirs in which he wouldn't be worrying about capturing details of affairs, Paula Jones, etc. It would be all about politics, his enemies and how everyone was against him, etc. Wow, he really IS a sleazy version of Nixon.

Moreover, how can we confirm he made these tapes while acting as president?

If I am not mistaken, Emmitt Tyrell, who also wrote "Boy Clinton", wrote a fictional account of a Clinton impeachment (before it actually happened) in which one of the key pieces of evidence was subpoened Oval Office recordings. If my memory serves, Mr. Tyrell claimed that there probably were Oval Office recordings, much like Nixon's, taken from taping machines that had never really been removed.

oops, sorry for the misfortunate use of the word act. I just always felt he was acting and/or imitating other presidents given the story line or, perhaps a better word, spin of the day was.

From granny glasses to which shade of grey his hair should be. From Bible in hand on Sundays to cigar, Monica and bongos.

From ^5's and cheers on the White House lawn of his supporters after the House voted to Impeach the Creep to waggling his finger in our faces with "I did not have sex...".

From emulating King David, Franklin Roosevelt to John F. Kennedy, Thomas Jefferson and First Black President to saxaphone playing, boxer shorts and "I did not inhale..." vast right wing conspiracies, "I've never worked harder in my life for the American people".

Yep, what a really big show! as Ed Sullivan may have said. Lots of glitz but frankly it was the... oh well!

I think he is terrified that he will be found out. That's why he keeps reappearing. The only thing that ever "woked" for him was his "charm." To disappear with grace would leave just the Facts of his shameful life for people to pore over. He can't let that happen, so he works the crowd at ground zero saying "I tried to bomb him" and spinning his actions wildly. There will be a point when the nation and the media wake up to Bill and Hillary and realize that they have been had. They are total frauds. We don't point that out because they are Democrats, either. McCain is a fraud too.

That's easy, we ask him. If he says he did, then he didn't. If he says he didn't, then he did.

But since he was never 'acting as President' one time the entire eight years, the point is moot anyway.
