Question: Which society, Saudi Arabia or the United States, has the higher level of rape?

If you go into a black urban community, you will find that there is no sexual repression. Obscenities are part of casual speech. Sexual relationships outside of marriage are the norm, as is childbirth outside of marriage.

Yet rape is exceedingly common. How can that be?

If you go into a black urban community -- and frankly, most of us wouldn't dare -- you'll find that it is also very violent. If sexual repression causes violence, then why is there so much violence in a community where there is no sexual repression?

Likewise, in the white American community, we've gone from a society that is puritanical to one that is very open about sexuality. At the same time, violence and rape have become far more prevalent.

The Japanese have very little crime, very little rape. And while pornography is quite liberal, the actual sexual relationships between young men and women are very restrained.

There are countless examples like this. The author of this article is merely propounding a theory, without testing it against reality.

What harms Islamic society is polygamy. The ruling elite can have more than one wife, which means that all the other males have to deal with a shortage of females. They compensate through homosexual activity, including the sexual abuse of boys -- who are 'more feminine' than full-grown males. Of course, for heterosexual males, this is not a satisfactory solution, and thus there is a lot of sexual rage.

But the source of that rage -- and child abuse -- is not sexual repression. It's polygamy.

This conclusion has been becoming ever more firm in my mind since the attacks. The 72 virgin afterlife fantasy is simply part and parcel with polygamy.

The overwhelming evidence of modern criminolgy links fatherlessness and distant or abusive fathers with all kinds of the most heinous antisocial behavior.

And we see quite a lot of that in Moslem countries, don't we?
