Possible links between Greyhound attacker, Osama and the KLA

The suspected lone bus attacker Damir Igric had a Croat passport. There are direct connections between Osama bin Laden and terrorists from Croatia. Complete Articles HERE

These articles focus on activities in Kosovo and Albania by Osama bin Laden and his crowd of Islamic Fundamentalist terrorists, allying themselves with the KLA --Kosovo Liberation Army-- from the summer of 1998 on. BELOW ARE SOME HIGHLIGHTS:

A Defense Department statement on August 20, 1998 said Bin Laden's Al Qa'ida organization supports Moslem fighters in both Bosnia and Kosovo.

The trainers and fighters in the KLA include many of the Iranians who fought in Bosnia in the early 1990s. Intelligence sources place their number at 7,000, many of whom have married Bosnian women. There are also Afghans, Algerians, Chechens, and Egyptians.

ALBANIAN authorities working with the Central Intelligence Agency claim to have uncovered a terrorist network operated by Osama Bin Laden, the Islamic fundamentalist accused of masterminding the African embassy bombings last August. The network is said to have been set up to use Albania, a Muslim country, as a springboard for operations in Europe. Fatos Klosi, the head of Shik, the Albanian intelligence service, said last week that Bin Laden had visited Albania himself. His was one of several fundamentalist groups that had sent units to fight in Kosovo, the neighbouring Muslim province of Serbia, Klosi said. "Egyptians, Saudi Arabians, Algerians, Tunisians, Sudanese and Kuwaitis - they come from several different organisations."

You must really hate Western civilization to continue to castigate the Serbs for fighting the establishment of an Islamic terrorist state in their midst.

Here's my logic. ;) We need to find a statistician to figure the population of Croatia, how many refugees sought shelter in America, how many terrorists are there, the possibility of how many being here, how many people from the Mid East were called a bad name, spit at, shot at, etc., in this country this week, factor the dead Croatian's mental stability in, get the toxicology report from the coroner, and then decide was he mentally ill, just crazy because he was being taunted all week, on crack, etc., etc., and then finally figure out what the odds are of a safe bus trip compared to slipping in the shower and breaking ones neck. Thank you for listening. :)

The number of Muslim Croats (assuming the definition is residing in Croatia) is de minimus. As a percentage, there are probably more Muslims living in the US, as well as a number of other Western European countries. The "Croat" thing strikes me as a red herring. It is animated by the absence at present of a Bosnian Muslim perp (for which there is an almost overweening hunger), so the Serb amen choir has to make do with a "Croat," who are equally on their sh*t list.

Hmmm... but maybe it was a copycat crime. Lock your doors!

My suggestion is let's move past the Balkan wars when focusing on the current crisis. Let's not let the folks with old grudges deflect us from focusing on the real locii of the problem at hand. If you want to continue to litigate about the Balkans, do it on a Balkan thread. You will find a bevy of supporters for your point of view there (although not from about 3 of us, but I trust that won't demoralize you).

Cheers.

Thanks for the link. It is quite amazing to me as to whom some in this neighborhood choose to associate. A more appropos moniker for this particular gang would in lieu of "white eagles," be "buzzards," who seek as their prey the weak and defenseless.

You mention moving past the Balkan Wars, but this Damir Igric was a Balkan War veteran, who, Croats claim, is suffering from post traumatic stress disorder. He's said to have drug and mental problems, a history of violence, and a police record, yet the American Embassy in Zagreb granted him a visa. Apparently, people like you think it is alright for Serb civilians to be massacred and ethnically cleansed as long as it doesn't affect the U.S., but now it looks like it has.

Bus Attacker in U.S. Was War Veteran With Criminal Record

ZAGREB, Oct 4, 2001 -- (dpa) A Croatian attacker who caused a bus accident in the United States in which six people were killed one day ago was a war veteran with a criminal record, Croatian police said Thursday.

State-run HRT television said the attacker, Damir Igric, 29, "had fought in the homeland war", a reference to the war of independence from Belgrade in the 1990s.

Igric had slit the Greyhound bus driver's throat, causing the vehicle to flip over and slide off the side of a highway in Tennessee. He was among those killed.

The attacker was from the town of Slavonski Brod, 200 kilometers east of the capital Zagreb and had been charged with illegal possession of firearms and drugs dealing, police said.

Igric, who also had a record of mental problems, entered the United States in 1999 on a one-month visa issued by the American embassy in Zagreb, according to FBI spokesman Scott Nowinski.

However, it was unclear if Igric had suffered from post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), a disease many Croat war veterans are suffering from.

His neighbors in Slavonski Brod told HRT that Igric was calm and a bit introverted after returning from the war.

The Croatian embassy in U.S. said Wednesday it will assist national authorities with the investigation.

In the United States, Greyhound Lines resumed services some eight hours after the attack. The nation's largest bus company said it was assured by the FBI that the attack was an isolated incident, not an act of terrorism.
